Corvette ZR1 vs Z06
Have an opportunity to buy one or the other. Was never a huge Corvette enthusiast. Which is considered the real deal, and why?
Thanks in Advance. |

I find the Z06 to be more impressive. I think the LS7 is just a much more interesting motor. GM did a lot of things to it that are different than any other LS motor. The LS9 just seems like a supercharged LS3 with some titanium parts thrown in. Just my opinion tho.

Not sure if OP is talking about c6 z06 vs c6 zr1 or c7 z06 vs c6 zr1.
C6 z06 shouldnt even be in the discussion, the ZR1 is a superior call all around. Now the c7 z06 vs the c6 zr1 is a better comparison. Zr1 is slightly faster (in a straight line) but then you have to consider the c7 z06's nicer interior / better handling. The zr1's motor (LS9) is very stout and seems to be the more trusted choice vs the LT4.

I'd go C7 simply for superior interior design, materials and build quality alone.

Do you plan on ever going more than 180 mph, stock?
If the answer is no, then it doesn't really matter which is faster.

ZR1 is faster then both c6 and c7 z06.
LS9 is more stout and boost friendly compared to direct injection LT4. That does not mean the LT4 sucks we are just comparing it to a zr1. ZR1 blower is both larger and easier to grow then the tiny z06 blower |

Or wait for the new C7 ZR1! Reported that the ZR1 will be unveiled in August, 2017; specifically, at that months Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America.

The C7 Z06-Z07 package seems like the best Corvette to own NOW.

I would probably go C7 Z06 bc of the nicer updater interior tech stuff....but I won't lie I would be very very very hard pressed to pass up a C6 ZR1.

Tough choice. If it were me C7 Z06 or Z07. But I do really like the C6 ZR1.
