RSW Drift Practice - see below

Albuquerque SMS Cars, Coffee, Chile, and Speed (Track Day) on SUNDAY, 29th of May 2011.

The entry fee is $50 per track day, unless you become a Driver's Club member. More information on this will be posted at http://www.sandiamotorsports.com/ or http://www.sandia-speedway.com/

The time will be between 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM (alot of the time, it's even longer).

We'll meet up at Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town at 7:30 AM and caravan out to the track.

By the way, if the parking lot is full at Hotel Albuquerque, we'll meet just across the street (on Bellamah Ave).

NOTICE: There is a $10 fee for anyone coming out to observe and hang out! It's $50 for drivers, $5 for guests.

Blakes Lotaburger now runs the concessions, so drinks are no longer free (bummer), burritos are about $5.

Helmets are required!

I'm totally into the drifting deal....but it's the same day at the RT66 Show that we're....um....supposed to be in.

You know if SMS is going to do it again next month??? LOL

I will be at the track in the morning, anyone meeting up at the Hotel ? will probably leave a bit early to watch the Indy 500 but may come back out to watch the drifting

It was another fun day at the track! The wind really sucked though.

Two of the really good drift cars came and did a short practice during the cars and coffee. We were waiting after for the other drifters to practice, and were about ready to leave when 4 of them came out, so we stayed to watch. That was really fun. To quote Curt, it was "controlled chaos"! Then we were about ready to leave again when the really good drifters came out. What a thing to watch. Still contolled chaos, but a little more control.

I'm thinking it would be a fun outing for the group later in the summer to go out and watch their big race event!!!
