Tow hook mounting question

Found this on amazon. How would I go about mounting this to the front of my 14 v6?

I would go on jdp and look at the kits specifically made for our cars.
that one would only work on a screw in type tow hook on most European cars. I'm not sure if the 14s have that or not but if i doesn't won't work.

I saw the JDP and ohio speed pieces and they are nice as I get that they are made for our cars but I just prefer the flip down look

Sure. You post a universal 12"-18" tow hook asking where to buy one at. You posted your own answer. Buy it, cut it down to proper length, and fab up a mounting point for it. As far as tow hooks ready to bolt on, I agree with Lombardi. Call JDP. I got mine from them and love it. I know you prefer the "flip down look" but I haven't seen one. I'm sure some makes one for your car? Hold on, I'll google it and see if I can find you one.

I know these are for a z28/1LE but maybe they might work on your car. They look easy to install and with some creativity I bet they would work for you.

Have you checked out Skylane765's (site sponsor) site.. they have your "flip down" hook.. however I am not certain it will work with your car.

I never asked wee to buy one, was asking if anyone had any idea how to mount it. But thank you for postig some useful info I do appreciate it as well as everyone else's contribution. Unfortunately the ones you posted and the ones to skylane's website wil not fit my car because it doesn't have the screw in plug for it. At least this is my conclusion I may message skylane and ask him if their would be a way to go about doing it

only way I would see is to get the screw in insert and weld it into your crash support. but they would have to be very good welds and I would still question the integrity. If the zl1 has a screw in I could say swapping to that bumper and getting a zl1 crash support to that has the threads. other wise your typical bolt ins are your only options.

but thinking of that you could make a bolt it that comes down but instead of the hook and a screw in insert. can be done but lots of work and figuring out the right strength material.

That's what I was thinking, maybe I could take a crack at making somethig. It would use the bolt in location like the JDP tow hook. It would come through the lower grille then, would have a seperate bolt or something that would look like the flip down style, whatdo you guys think?

that'd be the only way to get the style you want since they don't make one. just need to make sure it can take the weight of being towed so it needs to be made correctly or you can have an accident when towing.
