Looking for a dyno tune localy

I'm located in the SouthEast portion of Texas and I am in desperate need of a reputable shop that can tune and dyno a 2012 V6 LLT engine. Anyone suggestions would be welcome, and another random question to save me time posting in another forum has anyone found a way around not being able to have aftermarket headers? like porting the stock ones for example? Feedback on that would be nice as well.

Most people tune after adding a few mods...Are you tuning with no mods at all?

Both Rhino79 (GPI) and Matt@FSP make occasional trips to TX. PM them and see when they are going to be in the area again.

You might want to wait on tuning if you plan on adding LTs. With those mods, a tune is not going to give you that much bang for the buck unless you are looking to get rid of the AFM sooner than later.

Seems to be some confusion. OP has the V6 with the LFX engine. No headers, and you want a shop that is familiar tuning with/for:
  • HP Tuners/EFI Live
  • Variable Valve Timing
  • Direct Injection

I'm a little lost idk what LTs are =(, and I'm considering waiting for the new cams theyre currently trying to figure out for the LFX as well. Idk I'm just itching for a little more power its been a while since I've added a new mod, so the tune is the next step under a turbo or super until cams come out. I had a friend mention I should port my headers since there aren't any around right now for this engine, is that possible? Or was he just being ridiculous when he said that?

The exhaust manifolds on the LFX are integrated into the heads, so there will never be headers for this car unless someone designs aftermarket heads to accomodate them. You can port the heads, but I'm not sure anyone will do it for 1.5K.

I don't know what all comes with the MRBR exhaust, but the biggest bolt-on gains for the LFX will probably come from getting rid of the cats, or going with high-flow cats. A good tune from folks that know this engine will get you at least 15 to the wheels. The Solo downpipe will give you a little bit more. If you want a big bump then get an E85 tune. I think you can do any of those things for under $1,500. Take a look at this section and see what everyone else is doing.
