Over 300 miles on track, zero over heating issues. The Z06 has a different transmission. The ZL1 early A10 issues were simply over-filled transmission fluid. Don't post misinformation.

There was a update for the A10 computer when I had my 2017. I was aware of the overfilled Transmissions with the 2018 model year. Where are you getting specifally the ZL1 10-Speed Transmission experienced overheating issues? When you google ZL1 A10 or 10Seed Transmission overheating only one issue came-up, which is very weird for any automotive associated issue. Meaning in my opinion that the A10 overheating is quite rare. Motor trend magazine was not able to overheat any component of the ZL1. One week (5) sets of tires the A10 performd flawlessly.

Corvette A8-ZL1 A10 is Apple to oranges. Mainly the automatic Corvette Z06 experienced overheating issues yes. “Many Manuals did as wel.”

That was due to supercharger Cover pleninum design that effected both automatics and manualsp.

Heat exchanger & part of the radiator on A8 was covered by the automatic trans cooler. Z06 received a updated hood vent as wel.

Looks like the PDR is not so popular? Can t find any ,or at least it is not listed in the specs.
Is the carbon hood insert standard for all the ZL1?

It’s not that the PDR is not a popular $1300 option, it is very expensive. You have a carbon hood insert option $600 or the Standard painted insert. Carbon fiber dash insert is an option as well $500, navigation, sunroof is an option as well. My car has $6,000 in factory options. Not including the gas guzzler tax $2,100 whoops

Gas guzzler tax for Manual is $1600. Also you have premium paint options $495.

If you do not choose the carbon hood insert There is a Matt black decal stripe option.
Stripe option is not compatible with the sunroof or the Carbon Fiber hood insert

Thanks for the extra info.
Almost all cars I see on Autotrader have the carbon hood insert.
Is the PDR something one can add at a later stage?

Thanks for posting this. I figured it had to be possible, but it is well beyond "plug n play."

Aftermarket phone/camera based systems look more logical for a non-PDR car looking for this functionality.

OP, if you are considering it as an option, then I would look for a factory option car.

That’s surprising.... when I was shopping they almost all seemed to have PDR. I wasn’t going to get it, but my dealer had a car on the way that was identical to what I wanted with the addition of PDR and navigation. They made me a deal I couldn’t refuse to take that car, and I’m happy I got those 2 options in the end.

I never use CarPlay (has to be connected via cable), so having a built in navigation system is nice. Plus everything gets shot onto the cluster and HUD, which I don’t think happens without Nav.

As for the carbon hood insert, they all have one. It’s just a matter of whether you want it painted black or in exposed carbon fiber. Option code CFW is the exposed insert — the painted one is standard. I love the exposed carbon one myself, but to each their own.

I would not have purchased the exposed carbon weave, but the car had it. I now love it and think that the Carbon really adds to the character of the car. When I see a painted one, I think "how sad."

The painted ones had cosmetic defects that required covering!

Carbon insert all the way. I don’t like sunroofs so that was a no go for me. I did want the PDR but got a great deal on one without it and I’m very happy.

I drive mine in manual mod pretty much most of the time except when I am racing. It has a few quirks, but it is a lot of fun in manual. (This from someone who has owned mostly manual 6 speed fun cars.)

Racing, the A10 is fabulous. No bouncing off the rev limiter concerned that a manual shift will be a waste of time before the corner. I am in the right gear pretty much all of the time and it shifts faster than a human with full throttle.
