I recall when I test drove a 2014 V8 Silverado back in early 2015 and noticed same noisy-ness coming from it being direct injection.

It happens in V4 mode and seems like people who have M6 do not have this problem. I would say it is somewhat related to AFM valve or lifters.

Yeppers, probably the case. That's not much different to the 5th gen's L99 with an automatic transmission as well.

Took it to another dealer to check. They noticed the noise but do not know what cause it.

After two days, I've been told that they drove another SS on the lot and it is making the same noise. Basically, they want to say it is normal. I wanted to test drive their SS and they won't let me....

I don't know they are lying to me or not, either way I will not buy a GM car ever again.

I don't ear the noise very well. But if it's a rattle noise that seams to come from the upper dashboard, it's a known issue. I don't know if it's the same between the i4, v6 and v8 but i had the problem on my i4. It was a screw that wasn't locktited when they built the car ... It was doing a rattle noise at 2/4/6 gears. Don't know if that can help you.

When I got my 16 earlier this month, I noticed it right away. Id describe it as a feathered ticking. This is normal?

Same here, getting the non stop ticking. Honestly, this is incredibly disappointing after spending 45k+ on this car. Plus, the brakes squeal all of the time. Not the noises I want to hear after my long day during a commute home, when I was hoping to enjoy the drive.

So I brought this in and was actually told that this was the High Pressure Fuel Pump noise. Apparently it's very hard to cover up, and they have had a hard time completely getting rid of it. It is a little disappointing to not have known this prior to getting the car.

Anyone have any updates on this issue?

I found the solution to my click/clank noise - buy better quality gas.

However, if you want to confirm the fuel pump sounds, sit in your Camaro and hold down the start button for about 10 seconds. It will put the car into accessory mode and the fuel pump will rattle away.
