ZL1 Addons Bolt on Lift Pads Question

Thinking about getting these - is there any concern about the bolts digging into the side of the pinch weld and maybe creating a area susceptible to rust?

I would not be very concerned about that, actually I'd be more concerned about the paint coming off in the areas that contact the jack if you don't use the pads. I have them on my car and they were a great investment

This has been discussed and most are using anything from silicone sealant to wet undercoat when installing. Do yourself a favor and use a jack or cribbing to hold it in place while you tighten the set screws. There are two forward lift points and one rear. I installed the pads on the ones closest to the wheels and that allows you to use the rearmost front one to lift the car with a removable ZL1 lift point, the chassis is so rigid both wheels will come off the ground and you can get jack stands under the hard mounts in one shot.

I just picked up a single magnetic one with the puck so I can just use the jack location toward the middle and raise both tires and not leave the jack pads bolted to the car.

I've lifted my car with a jack and jackstands before; I'm thinking about getting a Quickjack, so wondering about using the bolt-ons vs just using a regular magnetic adapter/puck at each of the 4 lift points. The more I think about maybe the latter would be at least as easy.

I have both and the mounted ones are a no-brainer, I got red ones so if it ever has to visit the dealer they may get the hint.

Don't wait for them to get the hint, tell the service advisor up front. I've had mine to a tire shop and a dealership and both made a note of it. Tire shop advisor wrote on the work order in huge letters "Lift on red jack point only".

My dealership complemented me on the red lift pads. This was the dealership that forgot to screw up a puck on their old lift and pinched my rocker panel previously. They came clean, admitted it and replaced it.

Anyone worry about the screws coming loose while driving and having it fall off and destroy a tire?

I checked them to see if they loosened at all and they were still tight. Haven't worried about them since.

I went to Lowe's and bought some 3/4 inch wide by 1/8 in thick aluminum and cut two pieces the same length as the pads. I put them between the pinch weld and the screws so the screws would dig into them instead of the pinch weld.
