Oil Pump issue

I have a 2018 ZL1 and have been searching/trying to find out where to verify if my oil pump has been changed (by VIN#). Is there a website that I can go to for verification? Is there a manufacture date timeframe that I should be looking at? I would appreciate any assistance to steer me in the right direction.

If the dealer changed it, it should be in their database. Check with a Chevy dealer.

2017-2021 OIL PUMP# 12686434 AND OIL PAN ASSEMBLY# 12639931
2022-2023 OIL PUMP# 12698353 AND OIL PAN ASSEMBLY# 12696684

I believe there are 9 iterations of the same pump for Gen6 Camaro. Minor changes in all, and improvements as they get newer, but the newest ones can still fail (although less likely).

9….lol. You’d think if they put a little more effort into #2 or even #3.. there wouldn’t be a need for 9.. lol Gm

17-21 NUMBER IS CURRENT AND GIVES AN OLDER NUMBER BUT IT HAS NO CORRELATION WITH THE 22-23 LISTING AND IT'S PRIOR NUMBER.
WISH THEY JUST MADE IT CLEAR.

So if I get my pump replaced at dealership, I should be getting the latest version regardless of part number?

Honestly, I’m sure it depends on the dealer. But I would suspect they will cram whichever one they see fit in there. With the latest part being the most likely and logical option

CALLED GM CANADA, NEW NUMBER FOR 22-23 WILL NOT FIT 17-21, COULD BE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GO INTO IT, OBVIOUSLY ENTIRE PAN ASSEMBLY WOULD ALSO NEED TO BE CHANGED AS WELL. BUT SIMPLE ANSWER WAS NO IT DOES NOT FIT ON YOUR 2019 ZL1. AS FOR WHY IT CHANGED UP I'M NOT SURE, COULD BE A SEAL WAS REDESIGNED OR SUPPLIER CONSTRAINTS OR MATERIALS.

I'M JUST GOING TO GO WITH THE KATECH UPGRADED PUMP IF MINE FAILS, I BABY MY CAR AND DO PROPER WARM UP BEFORE DRIVING IT. MOBIL 0W40 DEXOS R OIL AND CHEVRON 94 OCTANE FUEL (CONTAINS NO ETHANOL) AND I DON'T TRACK THE CAR.

Dealership here would not even perform the work if I wanted to install my own purchased ktech.

Warranty issues.

I had reduced or no oil pressure due to the grommet between the pan and block. It cost me a fortune to fix it even though it should have been a warrant item. Oh, well it's only money.

My local dealer tried to pull the same thing. I said, "Let me get this straight, You won't install my Katech pump, and you want me to pay $3500 for the same oil pump that will fail again because GM will warranty it for 2 years?"

Okay, so what's that supposed to mean? GM fixed the pump but doesn't allow the part to retrofit?? My common sense dictates that they didn't fix anything substantial and it's just some fitment or clearance change.
