Car’s not happy with No Lift Shift?

I’ve done it 2-3 times (100% WOT) and it honestly feels/sounds weird.

Is there a trick to it? Such as being in a specific mode or perhaps having to release the clutch real quickly or something like that? Tried launch control and it worked (although mostly spun lmao) and it sounded SAVAGE!

Thanks in advance,

Pretty sure you need to be in Comp mode. Double click TC button.

Also just saw a table that says 5,000 rpm minimum for this feature to be enabled?

Any other requirement apart from 100% WOT?

PTM/Mode is a non-factor:

With regard to the effect of Mode selection on No-lift Shift, there is no difference between Tour/Sport/Track/Snow-Ice mode or PTM mode on the ability to perform the quick shifts. Most people either don’t keep the throttle to the floor, or don’t wait until they reach their Enable RPM before performing their shift. Both are required criteria to execute the No-lift shift feature. Lastly, the Enable and Target RPM is different for each engine application, and even within an application (as in the SS and SS 1LE).“

It is supposed to sound slightly weird as far as I can tell.

I have done it in sport mode. The default setting has it activating anywhere over at 5,200rpm.

You hear a little hiccup in the whine but the whine does not stop. The way I do it, I stab the clutch as fast as I can and make the shift then dump the clutch without letting off the gas. Works great. It took some practice for me to get it right.

I will typically only use it from 3rd into 4th, and once in a while 4th into 5th. The downward shifts work best for me. 3rd into 4th and 5th into 6th.

Yes you release the clutch very quickly. You basically stab the clutch in and out as fast as you can. If you are releasing it slow you aren’t doing it right.

Is there any particular reason you want to use NLS? Or is it just a general question? The car should be fine with the timing cut between gears and it shouldn't feel weird so long as you fulfill the requirements of the action.

General question, looking forward to testing it out later today 2->3.

Will report back. I’m sure I was not hitting that 5000 rpm req.

2-3 is always a tough one. I would suggest giving it a few practice pulls normally before you try to do it using NLS; you might even want to do it for the easiest transition (3-4) to get a feel for it prior to trying to do 2-3. I personally don't use it because I think NLS is just too slow in stock form. It can be adjusted through tuning but, I still think it's not worth using--not that you asked or anything, I'm just offering feedback. Good luck with your experiments.

So I tried it out today.

WORKS! Just like some said, the SC whine briefly paused but car keeps accelerating.

Unfortunately tried 2-3 and moneyshifted to 1st, saw 7,500 revs, tires buckled. It was quick though, and car is running just fine. Kinda intense break-in for 600 miles LOL

Will keep it 1-2 and 3-4 for now. You’d have to be brave for 4-5 NLS.
