Brake Squeal at ~13K Miles?

Gang,

Did a search and did not quite find the info; begging a million pardons in advance since it probably is on here somewhere already.

2nd owner of 2016 2SS A8 convertible just now ticking up towards 13K miles. Almost definitely original pads & rotors; Owner #1 rang up just 9.5K miles in 5+ years in Utah, so am guessing light use.

Getting some brake squeal on light application towards ends of drives or end of day, i.e., once all heated up. A very cursory look at the rotors shows no scoring. My fairly high-end gearhead neighbor sez, "typical carbon-ceramic behavior"; car has the Brembos but does that mean carbon ceramic pads for sure?

So, would the OEM pads be running out of useful thickness at 13K? First time with this rig so I don't want to damage the rotors; am almost looking for an excuse to try out those dust-resistant pads anyway. (Prostop Z26 IIRC? I can find those threads again to be sure.)

Any and all advice appreciated!

I get occasional squeal on my 2SS as well, I have the PowerStop Z26 pads...

Thanks for the input; how many miles do you have on those pads?
