DIY alignment
After installing SPL rear toe rods, fixing installation of one of the rubber insulators on my Vorshlag camber plates and installing new street tires I decided to try to correct the alignment as much as possible for the trip to the alignment shop. As it turned out, I was a lot closer than I thought.

I've been using this calculator for a few years now to get all the toe sorted:
https://robrobinette.com/DIYAlignmentCalculator.htm It's been pretty spot-on when checked on a hunter aligner afterwards and all it requires are 2 parallel strings (I have lately switched to using laser diodes that project a line in place of strings and still get the same results). Have a camber/caster gauge for the rest, but specifically on this car only camber since caster isn't adjustable. Decent one of those can be found for under $200 and pays for itself if you're going to be doing alignments yourself more than once or twice.

Great info. I used toe plates because I had them but found the string lines to be so accurate that there was no adjustment needed when I got close enough using strings to look at the plates. And of course the plates aren’t going to help with thrust angle. I hadn’t seen the calculator before.
