Was able to do some testing with the C7Z Saturday. First pull Aux low side was not responding. Brought it back to the shop...we tested the pump by jumping the connector with a paper clip and the pump fired up. Ok so we know the pump works. Next step was to blow compressed air into the vacuum line on the Hobbs switch....Nothing, nada, zilch. Took the adapter fitting off the Hobbs switch and found a clear sealant that was blocking the port hole on the Hobbs. Cleaned all that up, tested with compressed air, and boom Hobbs is now activating pump...Alright lets go run this back.

Go out make a 3rd gear pull with the M7 and shit... it's way out of fuel on E60. Low side is now dialed with the Cordes Aux setup but the high side isn't even close. +30 injectors are clear up in the 7's and rail is dropping way off. So I am looking at the log and see it's making 19psi of boost. I ask my Brother what pulley setup is on it and I believe he said 22% lower and 80mm upper which = Moon boost!

So this is what I know. +30 injectors, LPE pump, +32% cam isn't enough fuel for 19psi on E60 with a Heads/Cam/2650 setup.

Likely will need +60 injectors and a 44% lobe cam or Katech XDI pump system for this kind of boost. However I don't believe he was planning for it to make this much boost so he will be throwing a larger pulley on and will report back after we get it down to 16psi.

I will say the car is like a rocket ship until it runs out of fuel as is. Lol

I know I'm a broken record but per lingenfelter's tuner who looked at my logs assured me that an aux pump such as the dsx or smg won't cut it. He specifically told me they tried that route. Also 44% cam lobe will not fit through the journals. How ever the 42% will.

I got 880 on my 2650 on full E that's with the aux pump and 38% lobe but we also did a high flow line and ck valve which got us about 6 psi more low side under load probably about 74 psi until the low side fail off.

Tuner says it needs 80 psi under load which can only be done through return style setup. I believe the system cannot be setup this way according to Dave at dsx. After I told him I needed that psi.
42% cam
High flow line from pump, and ck valve

Only then will you get max effort from lpe stuff not that you need to run full E.. I was trying to setup something easy and idiot proof. A fill and go..

I meant 42% lobe and the Cordes low side isn't fluctuating at all. Cordes says this low side will support 1k. I can try turning up the low side pressure but either way he is turning the boost down.

Is it the AEM pump?

I am not sure tbh...I didn't purchase the parts or spec the combo. I am just trying to tune it for him. I believe this setup has a mechanical regulator which is adjustable. Right now it's set at 60psi. Between the Aux pump and JMS pressure is staying right at 68-72psi through the entire pull even when the high side starts dropping off hard.

Let him know if he wants to swap out those tiny +30 baby injectors, I'm here for him to throw them in my lowly unfinished snail ;-)

I know he will enjoy that comment.

I’ll take those injectors if he wants to upgrade.

They will go in my car before anywhere else lol.

Side note, went up a pulley size. Boost is still hitting a peak of 18psi. fuel system now holds till 6300rpm then high side starts to drop(2100psi) and Injector pulse opens up to 6.6ms. low side pressure never budges off of 68-70psi.

So now it's either move up to +60's, or go up one more pulley size or drop back to E50 when it's below 60 degrees outside.

I think if he swapped to +60 and I lowered commanded rail pressure to LT1 2100psi it would be golden for 18 psi. Which should be pushing 950+ whp on this setup.

Cordes low side uses a Bosch 044 pump. My factory low side also has a JMS voltage booster on it. Car did have a 13% lower and 80mm upper. Now it has a 85mm upper which is around 23% over driven.

We were able to get out and do some more logging today. 85mm upper with 13% lower is producing 18psi of boost @ 64-6500rpm. Dropped the E content back to 53%, made some 3rd gear pulls. Fuel system is holding with afr .82-.84 lambda. Rail- 2800psi, Low side 67-70psi, Injectors 5.8-6.0ms. Timing is around 19 degrees which is probably a little conservative but this is a higher compression LT4 build. I believe it's around 11:1.

Will be going from a 13% lower to a 5%. Going to install a auxiliary radiator at the same time over the weekend. Hopefully there will Be enough fuel for E60 and maybe we can play with timing if fueling looks stable.

After King adjusted fueling some more I haven’t noticed any.
