Why ask why? Honestly the pictures don't do it justice. IMO this is the best looking Camaro. Aside from tinting the windows the only thing needed is a louder exhaust note and that's it.

What a strange poll. Where's the "I race as a hobby, and it's a good platform for that without being too much."

I would imagine that falls under the 'I race...' option.

But I don't race professionally, and I don't NEED it.

This poll is silly.

How come no one wanted these cars and now it sells like hot cakes? Do more people want it or they just not making enough?

My guess is it is some of both. People who know what the 1LE is realize its bang for the buck/value. That coupled with new cars being harder to get due to supply chain issues and the cost of the competition continuing to go up, makes the 1LE one of the best values in the performance car market. Even despite the fact that the 1LE has been around for quite a few years now.

And it was an even better value until the price increase on the 2023 models. I paid MSRP for mine in February 2022, but Chevy also had a $750 rebate at the time, despite there being almost no 1LEs in inventory out there.

Prior to purchasing my 1LE I was interested in the new Z. Now that more information is available on the Z, including pricing and performance numbers, the 1LE is a better performance car for less money.

Simple! I do about 5 trackdays a year and also about 5 or more autocrosses. I absolutely rip the snot out of the 1LE on track and it never hiccups. Also passing a Porsche here and there is always fun. Last week at Sebring there were 7 1LEs.

Not only is the 1LE a better car for less money than the new Z, I would go as far as arguing that even the LT1 trim is a better performance car than the Z for a whole lot less money. If you want a limited slip differential that is standard equipment on ALL v8 6 gen camaros on your new Z, you have purchase an entire trim upgrade costing $10,000 more. So your $40K new Nissan Z will be a one wheel peel unless you buy the $50K Nissan Z that includes LSD within the trim. After that, you are still down 100+ ft lbs of torque AND 55 hp. Finally, if you thought you were buying a lighter more nimble car by choosing a Nissan Z, guess again. My LT1 weighs a whopping 50 lbs more than a 400Z.

This is kind of a shit poll. While I enjoy the handling and will indeed track the vehicle, I will certainly not do so on a professional level. It's just another one of the toys I have.

I guess this makes sense. I think people just started looking somewhere else now. I never considered owning Chevy at all, but when I saw Supra 3.0 for 53k I was disappointed and that SS I rented and enjoyed couple years ago looks much better for the money now.

No doubt about the 1LE. Probably the SS and LT1 too. Especially the pricing. I'm extremely disappointed in the features on the base Z. I'm sure it was intentionally designed with a lot less features to try to meet the $40k price point. The only real advantages the Z Performance has over the LT1 is that it has larger tires (255 front and 275 rear), slightly less weight and a smaller overall package. The base Z I believe comes with 245s (like the LT1). Unfortunately for Nissan, GM has the advantage in economy of scale when it comes to the Camaro vs. the Z.

It's not the 400Z though. Now its just the Z.

I agree. I chose the "I race..." option, but I certainly do not race professionally. Hell, I don't "race" the car. I enjoy HPDE events as a hobby. The top option in the poll should be changed.

I first had a C7 Z51, but lost it in a flood, and I couldn't find another one I liked. I was already struggling to decide between the SS 1LE and C7 Z51, so I decided to give the SS 1LE a chance. No regrets.

It's a super capable car on the track. It's essentially my intro into open track days and it drives like a dream. Really rewards your skills.

I got mine for a good deal, too, so that helped.

The problem with 400Z/new Z is that it is still riding on the same old platform as 370Z, so it is more or less just a Infiniti Q60S in a different shell. 370Z chassis also isn't the greatest when it comes to tracking. That's "we will milk the sh*t outta everything" Nissan for ya.

Now that Zupr4 has a manual option, that really makes the "at least Z has a manual" argument obsolete.

I think it has less to do with scale of economy here, seeing that Alpha chassis cars aren't exactly hot cakes, and more to do with the fact that JDM as a whole just isn't that competitive anymore. The small and light formula always has its audience, but as far as challenging the Germans and even Americans go like they did in the 80s and 90s, they have been done after the Bubble Economy bursted. They retreated into making econo cars, which they are good at, but the only Japanese cars that are in production now that can compete with the Camaro are either a lot pricier(GT-R, and maybe the NSX can match a ZL1 on a track?), or like 80% German.
