Ok, so ZL1 has twin disc clutch, is engagement different then
Typical single disc? ie more or less like a “light switch”

I would weight the asm and get something lighter or same weight in twin or triple.

I'm having an issue of inertia still moving and causing 5th and 6 gear problems at 150 plus.

every other speed and shifting is butter. Originally I though I was hanging up so not to put in reverse from 4th to 5th. But I have gotten 5th stretched out and 6 gear was hard to go into as well. If I granny shift no problems basically what to blead off a rpm/speed.

This is what trimec recommended is going on.

I’m talking about initial engagement from stop
Shifting through gears is like butter, but from stop
Compared to my previous camaro and corvette
It sucks!

Inertia shouldn't be effected by MPH on a clutch. Your clutch spins at engine speed, so in any gear, the clutch is spinning between idle speed and redline.

If I were a betting man, I would think that maybe you are heat soaking your clutch line, and by the time you hit those speeds, there is enough heat in the clutch fluid to make it not disengage as far, which would cause issues.

Zach is on point here, as he is with a lot of other topics. The factory line in the GTO’s had this issue too.
