The MDI2 might be a little bit of a pain for logging while on the track, but you're right that should capture it. I'd probably just use the MDI2 to watch the CAN traffic and find the parameter ids, then use some other tool from that point forward to record and analyze the data.

My point on the MDI or any was to not necessarily do it on the track but some where to do a smooth pull from x to y mph before and after the aero changes.

I have an MDI2, but I doubt I have the opportunity to do a before an after test like that. (I didn't bother renewing it because I only used the car on the track now, and now, the tracks I have nearby are closed for the winter.) I can probably capture data with the APR kit installed in the spring, but we'll need a baseline from a stock car. Maybe somebody will be able to try it. Given the data is available in the PDR metadata as well (for some cars at least), that should increase the odds of somebody getting it done.

I have the ASC front splitter and the 1st edition APR wing on my 2018 ZLE. The splitter mounts to crash bar and the wing definitley dented the trunk. Looks like I have seen folks getting sent larger underside baseplates now for wing which should help.
No real world data but the car DEF is more planted. Entering the upper esses at VIR at 143 speaks to that! |

Stormtrooper1le,
Could you explain more how you attached the splitter rods to the crash bar and do you have pictures? |

I have a time attack Evo X that has splitter rods in the front. It is chassis mounted but due to where the mounts are located I had to add rods in the front for extra support. I'm sure this chassis is the same way.

Oh the carbon fiber rods are the best part! I've seen some splitters with no supports however those are rarely on "streetish" cars- typically just race prepped cars as they will have all custom mounts/brackets fabbed accordingly. Honestly I was very happy with the engineering of this piece as it utilizes all the factory holes for underway and some. The piece also looks water jetted and not cut with a jig saw like many. I believe the guys drilled through crash beams and bolts/nuts to inside!

Can you comment on the balance of your car?
Looking for comparisons between the ASC splitter v. APR. One being noticeably larger than the other. This is for both Storm and Nicky.

Obviously my lap times wont mean much to you but 1.08.42 at NJMP Lightning course with R7 that have ~12 heat cycles is moving. Car DEFINITELY feels balanced. I will say that the addition of Hotchkis front and BMR rear sway bars was a DRAMATIC improvement. The issue with these cars is the weight though.

FYI, the new APR reinforcement plates for the wing/trunk are supposed to be on their way to me by the end of the week. When they arrive, I'll post pictures.

There is no one better for custom aero on the east coast. He has SICK areo on his Bimmer. He mentions his best lap time at NJMP Thunderbolt is high 1.25s. As a reference that is mine and I make double HP.
