Paint Correction
Need some input. I have a lot of orange peel in the paint. Has anyone done a wet sand and buff or other methods of getting the paint right before a ceramic coating? Thanks for your input.

The problem is such a repair would be very invasive. You’d have to sand through the clear coat and repaint at least the clear coat if not the paint itself depending on how much needs to be removed. Personally I wouldn’t try to correct it. I’d just polish it and apply several coats of paint sealant which should make it less noticeable.

Orange peel can be dealt with DIY. Check out posts by Mike Phillips on AutoGeekOnline. I wet sand orange peel on things I have painted.

on factory clear coat i would NOT wetsand. you don't have much clear to begin with and you would compromise it.
There are pads out there designed to deal with orange peel, not sure how well they work.

Just my opinion but that is a dangerous thing to do for the novice. If done wrong you will need to apply clear and or more paint. Some things should be left to a professional.

Try clay barring the whole car. I was in the same boat until yesterday. I didn't think it would help but went for it anyways. Now it looks like glass again. I had to wax it afterward of course.
