Newer Member w/ 6 speed Shift Question

I bought the car in February (Well my wife & daughter got it for me as a Birthday Present... I had been a good boy)

It is a 2011 Camaro SS w/2SS 6 Speed. I love the car other than the annoying shift to 3rd.

Since I've had the car I have noticed the 2nd to 3rd shift has been, well... Clunky is the best way to describe it. It doesn't grind or pop out or anything... But it feels like the gear grabs going into 3rd on upshift... Does not do it on down shift or any other gear. It's not grinding going in, or even blocking it from going in; it just feels like it is grabbing the shifter as it goes in... It does it especially when the car is cold. After the tranny heats up it does not do it as bad or as frequently.

Has anyone else experienced this?? Any thoughts on what may be causing it?? Any solutions??

Thanks for any input... I have done some research, but have not found much on it...

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks for the suggestion... I have been thinking about a Hurst short throw already, so if it will fix the issue... I am ALL about it.

Changing the fluid seem pretty easy so I may as well try it as well.

Do you really think this will really fix the issue??

Thanks.

Those are what I would do along with what I forgot to mention earlier.... maybe the most important if the factory clutch/brake fluid is in there, get fresh fluid in there first. I don’t remember if the 5th gen shares reservoirs with the brakes.

Ya know what... I never thought of this, but it is both brake & clutch fluid combined... I will be doing a fluid change ASAP!! Thanks for bringing this up!!! This is a great suggestion!! One I knew about, but just for some reason never really thought of... Thank you!!!
