Sound tube repurposing

I never got around to removing the sound tube on my car and finally found that it is useful after all.
While installing a curb alert on my camaro I needed to run the sensor wire into the cabin, through the firewall.

So, I thought I'd just run the sensor wire through the sound tube, and while I was at it and had plenty of room in my newly repurposed wiring conduit, I ran the power wire out through the conduit and over to the fuse block. The power wires needed to be extended some but it is all pretty clean.

As a note, about 2" toward the firewall from fitting between the lower tube and the upper tube there was a plug of what looks like foam packing material. I just reached in with needle nose pliers and snatched it out. I also put it back in before connecting the two pieces. Maybe to prevent smells from entering the cabin??

I drilled a hole in the bottom of the tube where it connects to the round device, no clue what it's called, to enter with my wires. I then put RTV around the hole to seal it.

I ran the wires in front of the main radiator with some of GMs wires.
I would suggest putting some kind of covering on the wires to protect them, such as the braided type I used.

It all came out pretty stealth. I've included some pictures.

Sorry for the blurry 2nd picture, but I think you get the drift.

How do you like the Curb Alert, and is the alert speaker loud enough to hear if the stereo is on?

I really haven't driven the car since installation. My car is not a daily driver so it will be awhile before I can report on it.

The alarm in the cabin is fairly loud, I guess it would depend on how loud you listen to music??

As an update, been using the curb alert to locate the car when parking.

Works very well. I go in slow and when I hear the beeps, stop. Always 12" +/- an inch or two from curb.
