Will I get a CEL on installing ported IM & 80mm TB without tune?

I impulse bought a ported intake manifold and 80mm throttle body for what I think is a good deal at $500. Looking at the listing he wrote it as Overkill brand for both, I have yet to get the Overkill tune but I want to see if anyone knows whether I'll get a CEL on installing these? I will get the tune but this kinda set my plan back lol

I bought Soler's 76mm efficiency tb before and had no CEL issues but went back to stock. Can't find anything regarding CEL on the combo without a tune but I could've missed it so it would be a great help

tuning the v6 (the ecu and tcm) is one of the more effective mods you can do and I believe overkill does free updates to that tune as you continue to mod your car. So there is no downside into doing it first.

Manifold wont cause a cel, but a larger throttle body or badly ported one could. I have neither so can't tell you specifically. Not a big deal to drop the stock TB back in though if it gets uppity.

Good chance you'll get a CEL with both those mods. BTW what is the "efficiency" Soler TB? I got their 76mm unit as well, but never saw one that said that

Overkill’s definitely on the list, this was actually supposed to be me buying the tune but I saw the listing on Facebook and I hadn’t seen the combo this cheap so I impulses it lol

I read somewhere that Overkill had a IM & 80mm TB that was kinda put together as one pieces somehow so I’m hoping I either read it wrong or it’s not real. My best guess is it’s the Jacfab IM mated to the Overkill 80mm TB so I may just put the IM on and use my stock TB till I tune then.

We got the same one IIRC, the 72mm they port to be 76mm efficiency here I think was it

I have the Overkill ported manifold and 80mm throttle body. Been running it without a tune for 2 years without issue.

It's not 1 piece. It has an adapter for the 80mm TB epoxied to the manifold.

That creates a new issue for me then, I bought the combo from someone who was on the supercharger and there’s two screw holes in the spacer. Since it’s epoxied to the intake manifold my only option I guess would be to find a screw that both fits the threads and isn’t too long and screw it into the holes to avoid any air leaks.

I’m gonna be googling this but do you happen to know if loctite or any other product will apply a seal when screwed in?

Holes in spacer

Also, have you had any issues with the RPM’s sticking after shifts sometimes?

It's not efficiency, it's effective. It's a 72mm throttle body with a 76mm effective bore. It's due to the shaft mill.

Yeah the OP used the word "efficiency" so that's what I was questioning. No biggy, just a play on words

When I first installed it, yes. It slowly went away after about 2 days. It's the ECM learning, so each time you drive it should do it less. If it's not you may have a vacuum leak.
