Trunk won’t open with use of electronic releases
Hello,
I have a 2018 Camaro 1SS Coupe. This morning I went to open my trunk by using my key fob and the trunk wouldn’t open. Tried using the other two methods (door button and license plate button) and it still wouldn’t open. I tried going into the trunk from the inside and using the emergency manual release but couldn’t find the pull chord in my trunk. Does anybody know what I should do?

Will the car start... sounds like the battery is dead.
I would go back inside the trunk with a good flashlight and find the pull handle |

I forgot some information in my first post. The battery is fine. When I use an electronic release I can hear a click, like the latch wants to open but can’t release all the way. I looked inside the trunk with a flash light. Can’t find the emergency latch. I think I’m gonna have to take the car into the dealership this weekend :(

Crawl all the way inside the trunk on your back. You will be staring right at the release.

I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. How I got the trunk open.1 push the trunk down hard. make sure it locked.2 lift up bottom edge of the trunk then keep pushing the trunk open button .3 while lifting the trunk up press the open button under the trunk. Keep doing this the trunk will open.

Oddly enough, I just had the same problem. None of the solutions above worked for me. While in the trunk (on my back, in the dark with a flashlight), I noticed a hole next to the latch. The hole is the access for another manual release option. It looks like a 3/8 hex square would work, but it’s not a 3/8 square. So, I used a medium sized screwdriver that fit across the square and turned it. The trunk popped right open.

More than likely it is the black round stoppers in the trunk are out of adjustment. This is a common issue, simply push down on the trunk while pushing the trunk open button and when it opens adjust the round stoppers until it opens properly.

Loosen the rubber stopper. About one turn around and it should work from there.if doesn't work it could be the electronic trunk popper broken!

I have had the same issue on my '17 coupe a couple of times and it was the latch being out of adjustment just enough for it not to release the trunk. I moved it - with my hand - either right or left and fixed the issue.

My 18 is doing this too. 90% of the time it works fine, but when I’m in a hurry it pulls this mess. Too many people are having the same issue so I would say it’s a design flaw.
