That’s not necessarily the case. The weight of the car doesn’t have as much to do with it as the temperature does. My 12 ZL1 sat in cold in a garage through single digits for two years. The tires typically only crack when you try to move and flex them in those temps

Yes. Assuming you’re talking about 4 new OEM sensors. The sensors each have an ID so the car knows which corner to call out.

Yes I need the programmer, or yes I'm understanding it right?

Sorry to be a pain

If you rotate tires and the sensors change locations you have to reprogram/reset. So new OEM sensors would have "new to the car identity" and would need to do the same, I would guess. If you put the currently programmed sensors back in the same location, I would guess no resetting would be necessary. But for $35, a programmer is an easy solution. My inexpert two cents.

Get the programmer. You'll need to reset the TPMS system when you rotate or replace wheels.

I drove the car far, far away (5 miles distant and about twenty miles altogether) and restarted several times so, unless GM's TPMS is powered by nuclear fusion, I got far enough away for the computer to sense something might be missing.

Thanks for the heads up on what model number to buy for the reprogrammer, I will order today.

Cute kid. Lucky to have a car enthusiast for a dad.

I've had GY Supercar tires on my C6 Corvette and now on the Camaro along with The Michelin PSS. As long as the tires are inside and not outside in direct air they should be fine. I mean unless you live up in the far North regions of Canada where it gets to be single digits for weeks to months on end.

The cars sit on the dealer lot all winter. Just don't move the car or mess with the pressures until the tires have warmed up.

I bought another set of wheels and all-season tires. I want to drive it!

My dealer actually kept my 1LE in a storage garage before I bought it at the end of January. It was the first one they received. We had such a warm winter last year that I, by luck, didn't drive the car when the temps were low. I had R888s on my last car and they made it through the winter without cracking but they weren't as soft as the GYs.

That's what I'm looking at, I drive all year except during snow and the resultant salt bath afterwards.

Is there any current ,updated info from Camaro6 drivers regarding driving with these tires ? I have no thoughts of driving the car at all during 4 of the coldest months here in the N.E. but driving these summer tires is not advised by Goodyear in temps below 70 degrees .
I would think prudent use above 50 degrees should be ok.
No ?

There's other threads about theses tires here on the forums. The Goodyear 3's and 3Rs are certainly good at 70*F. And if I remember correctly they are good to 40*F. All the info you need is in the owner's manual and performance supplement.
