redcoats1976 & Giri. Just curious but if your cars came with the standard 18" wheels you also should have all season tires, which should last significantly longer than the optional 20" 'summer only' runflats.

FWIW, I replaced the original tires that came on my 2LT 1LE before 11,000 miles with two track days and I believe, three Solos on them. There was still some tread left to them (not down to the wear bars) but driving the car in the rain was definitely not a pleasant experience. Which you both are probably familiar with seeing as you live here also. The new Firestone Indy 500's I replaced them with are a vastly different story.

My 14 factory tires made it to 3k and now my 18 tires are almost corded at 600miles, be happy you make it to 10k.

I have a 2SS and am over 29K miles on the original tires. I drive moderately-to-spirited, which means I rarely burnout, but almost always take off quickly enough from a stop to nearly break traction.

Had my tread depth measured at Discount Tire last weekend and my fronts are at 4/32", left rear (replaced due to flat tire a few months after purchasing vehicle) at 3/32", and right rear at 2/32".

Time for new tires! I'm going to replace all four at the same time. This time I'm going with non - run-flats so I bought the tire compressor and fix-a-flat juice from my dealership parts department to throw in the trunk, just in case.

Hello fellow Knoxvillian, or Knoxvillain.

I got about 12k out of my first set, 15k out of my second set, then switched to PS4s and they've lasted much longer.

Strange. I had 27k with mixed driving before I replaced them.

Measure the tread depth yourself. This would not be the first tire shop trying to sell someone a new set of tires.
Also, what part of California?

Learn about tires do a little research.

Notice that the treadwear grade is a ratio and not a mileage. This is because multiple factors determine treadwear rates and most of them are a function of driving conditions and operating environment, and not the tire itself. As a result, actual tire wear will vary considerably within the same tire line.

The roads where I live in NC are very abrasive, I usually get about 70-80% out of tires that have a mileage rating. We get enough cold weather, so I'll be getting all-seasons once the OEM Goodyear tires are kaput on my '17 SS.

My first set made it about 18 months, and were killed by the 6 months of track events after year one. I'd guess a good 15k miles or so, not sure exactly, but that included at least 6 track events.

Oh boy, really?

I have been having an issue with one tire which does not seem to hold air (right front). Mine is going into the shop this week for a full replacement of the convertible top, back interior panels, look over of the transmission, etc.

Question: does the tire & wheel warranty cover tires wearing down so quickly?

No. Tire wear is never covered under warranty. Summer tires wear very quick if you drive aggressively.

If you have one tire going down in pressure, it probably has a nail in it.

Tires are generally never covered by the vehicle manufacturer warranty, but sometimes they are covered by the tire manufacturer. All new cars should come with a little booklet from the tire manufacturer and any warranty info will be detailed there. Sometimes tread life is covered, sometimes not. Depends on the manufacturer and model.

I'm at 7200 miles and I'm past my tread wear bars, then ran over a piece of metal, so my car has been sitting in the garage with flat . I believe driving on rough roads and it being really hot out may have degraded my tires so fast. I've only done 2 burnots and my fronts tires are only 1mm off of my tears for tread wear.
