From what I'm seeing though, not too many ZL1 owners race their cars at the dragstrip. "Mexico" seems to be the more popular place to race these days.
Thanks Dave! I sure hope to make your bet payoff. I still feel like it's possible, even though last weekend was a bit frustrating. I know the only thing that kept me out of the 10s and possibly the 10.8 range, was lack of traction. The mph was there. The tough part is finding that grip on the factory rubber when it's cool out, but hopefully I'll find the prep I need.

I hope to see you break that barrier again too. I'm like you. I just knew there would be more running 10s and beating my time, even though I knew it wouldn't be something easy to accomplish. I kept waiting for you to do it because I knew you could drive from all the great 60s you were laying down. All it would take was a driver like you with good prep to beat me, because of how gentle I had to be getting to full throttle. Plus I hadn't iced the car and kept the supercharger cool, so I was nearly 1.5 mph slower on that pass than I had been earlier that night.

The cool and exciting part of it all, is the fact we're running these times at full weight and without any help from lighter, grippier tires. What will these cars run with a drag pack and some weight reduction?!

I was surprised that there were at least 3 6th gen ZL1s (including mine) at the track when I went last month. I don’t think any were on stock tires, though. Wish I’d had the time to talk to them, but I didn’t see anything too impressive in the passes I happened to catch. They definitely weren’t putting down the times you guys have.

I’d like to get mine to do consistent 10.5x @ 135. After 135, I’ll need a bunch of safety crap that I’m not doing, so that’s my goal. Originally, I just wanted to break into the 10’s. Now that I’ve done that, I want more. It never ends.
