I don't know if this holds true today, but I remember that when certain vehicles came with a towing package, it would hurt the resale value. I think that same kind of logic applies to a track pack car.
Agreed. But as the irony would have it, high end track cars are very well maintained. I’ve replaced control arms 3 times this year, windshields 3 times also, oil changes nearly every weekend, and the diff fluid as well. Only good gas ever used, replaced plugs, and I clean my air filter once per month. I’m actually more worried about the 10k mile car that I’m about to purchase that had two owners that were likely casuals.

The exterior of mine isn’t perfect. It would take about $3G to make it perfect. Mechanically tho, it’s flawless.

The Mecums will turn it into a collector's piece, particularly in that the world plans is to stop making gasoline autos in the 2030s.

I also think that when it comes to resale, mileage trumps use case. Mileage is king. Which is primarily why I’m unloading mine. If I don’t, it’ll be a 60k+ mile car by the end of next Summer.

The extreme difference in mileage is why I would disagree with you using only percentage of original value still held.

Mileage is HUGE when determining the value of any automobile.

One thing I will say about the ZL1/ZLE is that it is a very easy car to drive. I’ve been an absolute idiot in mine and it makes me a much better driver than I probably am. Now other cars like the Viper and even most Vettes, you really have to know what you’re doing behind the wheel. The weight of the Camaro also helps keep you out of trouble.

The C8 Z06 is also a handful on the limit. If you search for C8 Z06 at NJMP there is a video floating around of a pretty good driver struggling to keep the car straight. By contrast if you watch any of my vids there you’ll see that I can almost sip a cup of hot coffee with the car on the limit as it’s so composed.

I think this is the biggest thing I love most about the ZLE.

Thanks a lot, Leonard, you have a good one yourself, too. I'm 100% sure the majority of us would get along quite well in real life, just as you said

Depends on the buyer I suppose. All 1LE's have the track package so it's up to the buyer if they believe the car was ever tracked or not.

Conversely you can still run a non 1LE on the track too.

Absolutely, you can run ANY car on a track. Some buyers might be spooked by a car with a track package though unsure if it's ever been tracked.

I think this is of much less concern than buyers getting spooked thinking you took your Muscle/ Pony car to the drag strip.

It probably is less concern, that's why I said there are SOME buyers that might be spooked, but nonetheless they do exist. That being said, you can take ANY car to a drag strip but it's safe bet that many potential buyers might honestly feel any performance car has been flogged some by a previous owner. If I was selling a car with a drag pack installed, it might send a message to some potential buyers that the car was raced some at the drag strip. Some will care, some won't.

Everyone should know what a muscle car is for … that’s like having a hot gf but you only look at her and keep her pristine for the next guy.
