Halo lights

The first time I ever saw the halos, I thought I absolutely had to have them. Now after having my 2013 for six months, I'm going through buyers remorse. There are times I wish I had the regular halogen lights and the useable fog lights. On the other hand, I think having the fogs as DRL's is way cool. Generally DRL's are rather ugly looking lights. But the gen5 Camaro fog lights are awesome looking when turned on. And I actually prefer the yellow lights to the HID fogs. The only thing about using the cable to keep them on all the time is the yellow fogs don't go well with the HID headlights. Just rambling on...any other thoughts?

I agree there is a certain charm to the Camaro halos. But I think the halos as DRLs on the BMWs are hideous looking. I don't agree that the fogs need to be HID. We can agree to disagree.

You can get aftermarket fogs that match the color of the halos, and you can get a harness from Ofer to address the usable fog lights issue.

If you still have your heart set on the halogens, I'd be happy to trade with you!

Actually, it appears the 2014 Camaros will all have fully functioning fog lights. I wonder if the halos will become the DRLs on all models that have the halo lights? If that is the case, I prefer the current setup on halo-equipped Camaros below the ZL-1 level. I don't care for the low, low beam headlight as DRL or halos as DRL. If that is the direction GM is taking, my next muscle car may have to have Ford in the title.

How can they be aimed to blind oncoming drivers when they're just my low-beam headlights running at a lower voltage? Same for my wife's minivan?

I love the HIDS/halos. To me the yellow halogen lights look old and dated, and the reflective housing just doesn't go with the car. HIDS not only look better but make the car look more high end, and to add to the fact that you get 10X the light output than standard halogen lights. I do wish the DRL's matched them and were HID's or at least matched the color

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong, OP, but are you saying that you wish your Camaro didn't have the halos? I have no idea why you wouldn't want them... That was a huge deciding factor in my purchase of the RS package [the 20" RS wheels being the other part]. But to each his own, I suppose.

Maybe I'm weird or too old but I like the look of a Camaro with the halogen headlights turned on. I think it looks cool. The halos haven't grown on me yet.

I own a 1SS and I wish I had gotten RS package. I really do like the halos a lot and plan on getting them added later on. As for the fog lights I don't think they absolutely need to be HID but I think I'd prefer them to be. Not a fan of the yellow myself.
