2017 ZL1 P0340-P0341 codes after oil pump install
I last week had shop install my new Katech oil pump and now I am dealing with the P0340 and P0341 codes with an intermittent tach when I arrived home. Tomorrow (Friday) I'll be going back to the shop that warranties their work.
I've replaced the cam sensor and still have issues. I've checked all of the wiring harness and there is no rubbing or wearing on the harness itself. I've read that some C7 owners have had the short cam sensor harness replaced and it was fine afterwords. Has anyone here replace that harness and has had success? And does anyone have the part number for this harness. It's definitely an electrical issue, but I am looking for some advice in what else I can look for before I make the trek to the shop. Don’t panic, take it back let them figure it out. If they’re reputable, they will figure it out. Even NASA makes defective parts and or installs.

Double check all the connectors and make sure they're actually all the way connected and none are damaged

***UPDATE*** We have discovered that there was a few drops of coolant in the connector. This is the connector that is located on the lower driver side of the timing cover.
Cleaned and blew some air in the connector just to make sure and even applied some dielectric grease. This resolved the issue. I also forgot to mention in the first post that there was an oil pan leak that I didn't know about because there was never any oil on my garage floor. It was found that there were several oil pan bolts that were very loose. I asked him is the oil pan had been off before and he said no, it was the same as it left the factory. Wow, that was a great find. How did they know where to look? How did coolant get in there?

The Technician/Owner worked at a Chevrolet Dealership for 10 years (Recently started his own shop). He learned from how many 6.2’s he has worked on.
He said that he would always make sure that he kept the connector covered, but sometimes no matter how hard you try to keep coolant out that it always finds away to get inside. Last edited by Deadpool Z; 03-31-2024 at 04:26 PM. |
