Replace the Goodyear Eagle RoF, with what?

First experience with Goodyear Eagle run flat tires and boy are they noisy,
they hum worse on roads with a coarse pavement but i did drive on newly or newer pavement and they still radiate that hum into the cabin, (only 150 miles on the car)
I did check the psi while i was driving and they are at 40 psi which made me remember the story about how the factory over inflates for the train/truck shipping,
so maybe lowering them to 35psi it will help.

Do a little search in this section for Michelin PS4S and Continental ECS 02 non-runflat, these are the tires you want. Little to no road noise, fantastic manners, lots of dry traction, extremely good wet traction (at least with the PS4S, not sure about the Contis), easy 1g+ lateral grip in corners, relatively good treadwear. Yes, they're not cheap, but as with most things, you get what you pay for.

I bought a cheap set of Kumho tires for my LT1 and after just 2500 miles they are loosing grip in intersection turns on dry payment. My Goodyear’s lasted 30k miles…

Yea it's a little bit of a balancing act i guess a softer compound is less noisy than higher mileage harder rubber.

Clearly all tires on new cars are specially pre-magnetized at the factory to attract road debris.

But aside from that, I'm shopping for replacement staggered runflats for 2022 1SS (16k), left rear tire cannot be repaired. needs 2 or 4, ouch.

Factory tire replacement from tirerack is less expensive than replacing with many of the alternative runflats ! There seem to be 0.0 (Zero point Zero) all-season runflats available, some discontinued or out of stock.

I've had experience with hancook on 05 GTO (zero grip on wet, a v o i d)

Also I had Proxes on 05 GTO (pretty good, way better than hancook not as good as goodyear or DWS06 or michelin, but would buy again)

I'll probably go with DWS06+ if not runflat, i've got almost 100k miles experience with those on SS Sedan, along with some michelin AS4+ in front for a while.

AS4+ in front and DWS06+ in back was a great match on SS Sedan (XL required on rear of SS Sedan is why that happened).

I will never buy runflats again unless a manufacturer figures out how to fix the excess road noise and the ride quality issues these inherently introduce.

The Contis you mentioned are very good all-season tires, I had it on several vehicles. Not sure about their high end performance, though, since the vehicles I used them with were all underpowered cars and SUVs.

They're 3 years old and Tire Rack often has these closeout sales on older stock.

Do you think if it is all I can afford, would they be a big improvement over the stock run flats ? I have a 2023 1LT 2.0

Probably, but I can't say for sure, because I never had these tires. Check out the Tyre Reviews channel on youtube, that guy knows what he's talking about and he must have reviewed them at some point.

EDIT: you have the 20" wheel/tire combo on your 1LT (as I assumed), right? If not and you have the standard 18" wheels with non-runflat tires, these will definitely not improve the ride or the noise, possibly not even traction, and of course you'd need new wheels, too...

I do have the 20" with the hated Run on Flat Goodyears

I spent my extra cash on the 50th Anniversary Wheels, so I can get the look I want on the outside of the car, but just thinking maybe I am making an error not trading out the tires as well, since I will already be paying for the swap, Discount Tire $180.00 cost to swap wheels on current tires or $130.00 if I get some upgrade for ride and lower noise tires at the same time.

Thanks for ideas everyone!

EDIT: Bye bye runflats. 4 new DWS06++ shoes tomorrow. Also I'm buying one of those nifty spare-wheel-and-tire kits. Two actually - the other is for SS Sedan.
