You can buy a cheap hand held scanner like I did before I had it repaired and just turn the CEL off. Used to do it about once a month. Good luck

Mine is in the shop at this moment with thos exact issue. Thank God I have the top warranty. They are test driving it now and will get back to me. Not sure of total I will need to pay yet, but I'm sure I have to cover the diagnostic test for sure. 2 weeks ago my thermostat went bad and warranty covered all by $123.

So my 2017 SS just threw the P0700 and P0711 CEL combination. From some searching, this looks to be a somewhat common issue on the 8L90 automatic transmissions.
It is an issue with the wiring harness in the trans and there is an updated part to fix this. The harness has the temp sensor integrated into it. I will have to drop the trans pan to swap out the harness but looks to be relatively easy. Have a new trans filter, fluid, and the new harness on order. It's always something. |
