Indianapolis Buyers - Positive Car Buying Experience
For those in the Indianapolis area, and are looking to buy a Camaro (or any Chevy for that matter):
I bought a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE recently from Hare Chevrolet in Noblesville, IN, and on top of the great deal, had a really good car buying experience. I worked with Vince Gainey, who is a 5th Gen SS owner (and used to have a 70 Split Bumper Camaro), so he's a car guy who knows these cars. I talked to Vince on New Year’s Day about an Arctic Blue 1LE they had, he gave me a fair deal, but I told him where I wanted to be, he checked, called me back again and said "OK, we can do that". Now keep in mind, it was New Year’s Day, and they were probably trying to squeeze in every last car sale to close out the year. In fact, he told me later on that had I called a few days later, they wouldn't be able to give me the car at the price I paid. But there was no haggling or back & forth BS, it was really that quick and easy. Also got a great deal on an extended warranty. I'm from the northern suburbs of Chicago, so I drove down to Indianapolis the following weekend, looked over the car, signed the paperwork, and paid for it. I did not test drive the car (due to the freezing temps), and Vince was also adamant that the car should not be driven. In fact, they weren’t going to move the car to prep it until the temperature was above 40 degrees. Which was fine, I didn’t need the car right away, and it was to ensure the integrity of the tires. Fortunately, we caught a break in the weather the following week, and the car was shipped in an enclosed trailer, as requested. Vince kept me up to date on everything, and sent me a bunch of pictures of the car pre-delivery on the morning the transport company picked up the car, and then followed up with me afterwards to ensure everything checked out with the car upon delivery, etc. I was pretty pleased with the transport company, as well. The driver didn’t speak much English but was very meticulous with securing the car. Used towels where the straps ran through the wheels. Had extension ramps to reduce the angle of the door/ramp, and then laid a big thick blanket over the door/ramp in the event the chin spoiler rubbed while backing out of the trailer. I actually backed the car out of the trailer myself as it was a tight squeeze for the driver to get into the car, but he guided and checked everything the entire way out. So, all in all, just a really good car buying experience. Couldn't of been happier with the whole process, start to finish. Not to take anything away from any other dealers out there, just another option for those looking. |

I've bought 3 from Hare since 2009. A 2010 Camaro, then a 2011 2SSRS and finally a 2016 2SS. Hare is an exceptional dealership. I know Vince and see him when I go to Hare though I personally deal with R. Richetti Simpson. Their service center is great and I've never ever had a bad experience. Stay in touch with Vince as Hare offers invitations to IMS for the Chevrolet Customer Appreciation Day which takes place on Saturday the week before the race, and again on Sunday the day before the Indy500. You get to do laps around the track, lunch in the Pagoda Chalet and get to see the Chevy exhibits, quals and all the other stuff going on. It's a great time for sure.
Vince knows all about it. We meet up at Hare, get police escorted to IMS and line up. The drive with escort is an experience within itself.. Something to think about at least. Here's my RJT 2010 1LTRS I got in 2009, my RJT 2011 2SSRS at IMS when we were moving the Festival Cars for the month of May and my new 2016 2SS w 2SS SixGen, all from Hare Chevrolet.

When I wanted to factory order my ‘14 2SS Vert and trade my Mazdaspeed3, I visited every Chevy dealer in Central Indiana. I think there was 10 of them. Hare was the only one who would commit to a fair trade nine weeks before the delivery of the new car.

Taking my Tahoe to Hare Monday for service.
Got a $20 oil change last month. I can’t buy materials of a DIY at that price.
