hello fellow Z28-ers ... I want to buy I CTEK to keep the battery healthy during the cold Washington state winter... any recommendation on which model to use for the Z/28 battery?

You have a smaller battery than typical Camaro, but the CTEK won't care if it's an SS, ZL1, V6 or Z/28.

I use a CTEK Multi US 7002 on the ZL1 and am very happy with it. I use a Battery Tender Jr. on the 2010 SS when it's sleeping (If you ever go with a Battery Tender, use the Jr. version only to maintain, the regular Battery Tender models suck). Both keeps the batteries fresh and topped off, ready to go and have for several years.

Both will maintain AGM or lead-acid without issue.

All that you need
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tende...s%2C120&sr=8-5

Pop the hood, put black on bare metal bolt... there's a post on the driver's side fender by airbox. Then red connects to charging port by master cylinder. Done

I don't have a Z, but I use this charger/tender and am very happy with it!

I use Battery Tenders on all my cars. Never a problem!

I bought this https://www.dougshelbyengineering.co...wiring-harness for my Z, so much better than the charging cord hanging off the fenders or rear bumper.

I bought this for my NOCO's so it can stay permanently under the hood and Poof you can Jump start if needed and my Trickle fits on the other side, no more gator clamps lol.

That's pretty cool. My CTEK came with an adapter something like that. I just bolt it to my battery terminals, and when I need to attach the CTEK, I just plug it in, when done unplug it. It stays in the trunk ready for action! No clamps needed!!

Yeah, I'm not installing them in the Trunk but in the Engine bay where the Jump ports are. I just added another Ground on the Block to the chassis

See my posts in this thread about the CTEK MUS 4.3 TEST&CHARGE with Recondition setting compared to Delran’s Tenders …no comparison Cteks are by FAR superior.
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showt...highlight=Ctek

I’ve had both and would NEVER AGAIN trust hooking my car up to a Delran tender with those simpleton red & green lights On multiple occasions with both a JR and Tender+ they turned off (red light never turned green it just went out …WTF !) and this was on a good battery. I contacted Delran and was told the charger reached it max time limit which isn’t written up anywhere and that I must have a bad battery…WRONG!!! IMO before hooking your battery up to a Delran tender you have to ask yourself the Dirty Harry question “Are you feeling lucky today?”

I suspect that with the larger CCA in our cars combined with the parasitic drawn built into our cars the Delran tenders can only charge so much given they more for motorcycle and smaller CCA car batteries.

ps - I use the Recondition setting once a year on my AGM battery
