CATCH CAN PERFORMANCE
I've never quantified the output to my Rx catch can so, thought I'd do that for the record. I haven't been driving it much since I changed the oil in February. So, I drained it and this time measured it per mile. In six months, I've driven 1,027 miles and the can collected 4oz. It holds 12oz. So, about 4oz/1000.

The season-ending front is coming through today putting an end to the 70s and 80s so sadly, the wind deflector came out, the tonneau came out and the top went up for only the second time since a freak warm spell in February.
This was my fourth summer driving the car since it was built for me on St. Patrick’s Day, 2014. It was as much fun to drive yesterday as the day I got it (more actually due to some great mods documented here). And, despite a second surgery on my left knee that leaves it with no cartilage I can still clutch it with a conscious effort to keep things in line. This has caused me to finally develop some long overdue empathy toward those of you with automatic transmissions! The top has been down and covered each of the four driving seasons. It’s probably been operated up/down maybe 20 times in four years. It’s never been washed or treated. It looks brand new. I think I can claim success for my top strategy of keeping it in good shape by simply not using it as much as possible. YMMV.

INSURANCE
Well, the Vert will be 4 yo in March. I had been carrying collector car insurance through Grundy primarily for the “agreed value” coverage which I had set at $50,000 with the idea being replacement cost. I decided to get a quote from my Safeco agent for standard coverage (market value) with my other autos and home. The quote was $370 so I switched. So, if there’s a total loss this year, I lose about $20,000 for saving $330. And if that happens, there won’t be another Camaro.

FEB 28th
Took the Vert out yesterday, put the top down (63 with sun) and drove up to Castleton where I treated her to a fresh tank of 93. It is always a treat to experience that first top down day of the year. I got a lot of envious looks for sure. One guy driving a beater pulls up to me at an intersection, rolls down his window and yells, “wanna trade?”
I’m impressed with how well the car runs with nothing but oil changes since mods and a tune 4 years ago. My only “problem” is my neglect of her cleanliness. She needs some serious detailing. I’ve been distracted lately by resurrecting my guitar playing hobby with the purchase of a high-end Martin. I’ve never owned a truly fine guitar and this instrument is amazing. In fact, to the guitar guys, I’ve compared the joy of opening it’s case to that of stepping into my Camaro. Both bring a smile every time. Life is good. Here’s a pic of my favorite part-the incredibly wild grain of its Guatemalan Rosewood back. For those that don’t know acoustic guitars, Rosewood is the top “tonewood” used in fine acoustic instruments due to its remarkable sound characteristics. To my eye, it also looks pretty cool.

4th Birthday Pics
My Vert was born on St. Patrick’s Day 2014 and delivered April 11, 2014. So, it is four years old. I finally got ‘er cleaned up and out for some photos. It still thrills me today just as much as it did on Day One, so I figure I chose pretty well. Here she is....

Cars & Coffee
Mother's Day at IMS-that’s Ryanbabz71’s new 2018 SS 1LE next to my car. How about that 1962 Studebaker pace car? And who doesn’t love a 427 Cobra autographed by Ol’ Shel hisownself!
