ZL1 2" Kooks Headers-Driver side rubbing

Anyone have 2" Kooks installed on there car that can confirm the fitment is good. I knew they would be tight but in a hard right hand corner with throttle the driver side header is rubbing the side. Took me several test drives to figure that out by the way! Had a vibration and for the life of me could not find it. The headers were installed by a shop over the winter and last weekend was the first time this year I could take the car for some spirted driving in the country. I but the car in the air and disconnected the connection pipes to make sure they were not torqueing on the engine. Actually made it worse, with the connection pipes off there was less then a 1/16 inch gape between the header and left side. I will call Kooks on Monday but in the mean time I was wanting to know if this is a on going problem. I have had Kooks on the last 3 cars with Zero issue. Hope they stand be hide there product. There warranty on there web site says they take back defective product with a RMA# and the buyer has to pay shipping. That does not seem right to me. What about labor? Knda hard to see in the pictures but you can see were the paint is rubbed off.

I have 1 7/8 Kook's. I installed them myself. The driver side was a VERY tight fit going in but its been 6 months now and no problems. I called Kook's before I ordered mine and they said unless you were going to be north of a 1000 rwhp the 2 inch wouldn't really make much difference. Hell as tight as the 1 7/8 were I don't if I could have got them to go in lol

Ill take a look at my 2" Kooks install this weekend.
From your pics, I cant see the rubbing. Can you circle the section in one of the pics and repost - I will look at mine.

Looks like a solid reason to go to poly or solid motor mounts to me.

The shadow on the left side of the circle is actually the tube.
You can see a hole in the frame wall and just the front of that you can see were the paint has rubbed off

I would "persuade" both the sheet metal and the header tube JUST a fraction each with a hammer. Im talking a tiny bit each. Let both have some love. You will lose zero power.

Having a similar issue, the header is actually rubbing on the steering rack. Same symptoms when making a hard right turn!

I just went and looked at mine. It is also hitting the steering shaft. This picture is with the tires straight. So when I turn right those melt marks are right against the header and that the white mark on the header tube is melted plastic. Not cool! The melt marks prove one thing, they do not rub under hard straight line acceleration which means the body has a ton flex in it. Might be time to try the BRM strut tower brace. Maybe that would take out just enough flex to make them not rub. Defiantly calling Kook on Monday.

I thought we were talking about Kooks headers hitting the steering shaft.

Here's one example
