E85+87

I’m currently mixing e85 and 91 to achieve a level of e60. I fill up a little more than once a week so it adds up quick. I was wondering if I could blend with 87 instead of 91. I’m sure it would lower the e85 even more but that would just mean I could pump more e85 saving me even more money. Is this doable or a no no???

The truth is

I hate to be the bubble buster,E85 AT THE PUMP IS 15-20PERCENT 87 and the rest Ethanol already.

They don't mix Ethanol(corn) with 91 or 93 anywhere in the storage tank.

The good news is there is this that is the best of both worlds -

Ask this guy Jay Berry with Ignite Fuels

Wait that is good news right? It means that you can mix 87 with no problem.

Sunol Super does a real cruddy mix, I filled 50/50 and ended up at e40. I haven't tried Propel in San Jose yet though. Who are you getting your ethanol from in SJ, Propel or someone else?

I usually get it from a propel station in Redwood City. Usually comes out e75-80 at $2.89/gallon. Filled up at a Pearson fuels station off Alma for $2.25/gallon today. Seems to be around the same percent.

Pearsons in Concord gives a good mix too.
