Nope. I'm guessing it is too late to salvage my tires with a track alignment at this point?
Also, if it was poor alignment from the factory, is it even possible to get Chevy to absorb the costs of new tires?

Maybe? They should offer to correct alignment for first 5000 miles. My dealer did. I have 6 track days 11500 miles on a set before 2nd set. G3s wear prettt well for what you get on track. I tried the stndard track alignment but understeer is still there. I ended up maxxing front at -2.4 f and using -1.5 rear zero toe and combined street track wear was very even.

Interesting. Time to have a chat with my friendly dealer. They basically "blamed" the uneven wear on my track day and said only fix is to replace tires

Track day with standard street alignment would understeer and cause outside tire wear or rollover. The outside of the G3 looks different than the rest of the tire though even new. People look at them and think its bald on the outside but it is part of the design. You will see the deep wear indicators if you look closely.

These types of tires do look bald to some guys. Friend of mine knows a guy with a Z06/Z07 and the moron at the inspection station refused to put a sticker on it, told him he needed new tires. He HAD new tires, it was a new car and the tires (Sport Cup 2?) are DOT. Tech was just too dumb to understand.

Another item as well, when I had my Transmission/differential/brakes flush and my oil changed, the service writer had on my ticket the mechanic said the Boxes and Springs would not pass inspection since my inspection is due in March.

What are these ""Boxes" that the mechanic is speaking of was speaking of?

Central Virginia's version of "muffler bearings"?

Found this thread through a search, lots of helpful hints. Had an additional question though. What do you guys do to protect the paint, if anything? I've raced Lemons, Champcar and AER with a beater and never worried about paint for obvious reasons. But a bit concerned about taking a fairly new car with atrocious factory paint to an event where it might get blasted with debris. Suggestions? Or am I overthinking it.

I have my front fascia covered in Xpel PPF. I dont want that getting damaged as it is more expensive than the tracwrap. Has anyone put tracwrap over the Xpel PPF? OR is there some other way I can protect my car that wont ruin the current PPF

Mainly just in front of the rear wheels and the front splitter?

Something else I bring to the track the me is a set of wheels chocks. Since you won't want to use the e-brake after a session, wheel chocks added extra peace of mind over just putting it in gear when off.

As far a track alignment, there's a massive difference between factory and track alignment when it comes to understeering and even tire wear. Get the alignment for sure.
