A8 Shudder Poll
I'm curious on how many experience the issue or don't. Haven't found an existing poll about it.
I'm trying to gauge the likelihood of dealing with it if I get an automatic. |

It is very widespread, at least here on the forums...not only just in the Camaro, but the C7 Vette, Colorado, and pretty much all A8 applications across GM's line of cars and trucks/SUVs.

Needs a few more options to pick from like:
Yes - triple flushed and not fixed or shutter returned Yes - TC was replaced but shutter has returned Yes - have not taken to dealer yet No - triple flush fixed No - TC was replaced fixed shutter Just a suggestion, my was flushed and it seems to have "fixed" it for now. Its been about 4k miles since flush

I voted yes because I had the problem like several others, but 2 flushes, a new tc, and almost 10k later, I don't have the problem anymore. Knock on wood.
I'll also add that my car hasn't seen v4 mode a single time since I had the tc replaced, on purpose. I'm pretty sure the stock tuning lets that mode accelerate the problem, atleast in the transitions to and from. |

I drove mine in manual mode to disable AFM until I decided to tune. No shudder issues with mine yet.

Sorry. I'm still pretty new here. Just wanted some data on the likelihood it happens to me when I join the bowtie club officially.

My Range flaked out yesterday for a little bit, CEL came on that I eventually cleared out, but I drove it home a few miles without the Range...Damn, the shutter was horrible, the Range does help a lot, even though it is a damn bandaid until a real fix comes along.

Another option needed: Triple flush fixed the shudder, but it came back 8,000 miles later. Had a second triple flush done a few weeks ago, and so far so good. But we all know the shudder will be back eventually. For those that don't have this issue, I believe it is because they just haven't driven it enough. If it is a "pleasure" or "weekend" car with only a few thousand miles a year, then you probably won't have the issue yet. It first showed up on ours at just over 10,000 miles. Triple flush fixed it. Then at 18,000 miles it came back. Another triple flush has fixed it again for now. That second flush was done on the same day as GM sent the email to dealers telling them not to replace the torque converter and to wait for a fix in Q1 2019. I am disappointed with GM that it has taken this long, but I believe they will eventually get it figured out.

Same as above. Had the flush done again this week and believe I felt it on the way home from the dealer.

Triple flush back at 7K and just got my Camaro back today with a new old stock TC. My TC at 15K was shot. Will be back in 2019 but at least this will get me to 19. Service manager says see ya in a few months.
