Did you read this thread? It was just mentioned that 10 quarts is the correct amount.

If you used more than 10 quarts your car is over filled.

We can yak about this all day long (as evidenced by this thread). The X- Honda Civic guys used to 3.5 quarts will still not get it...

Yea I did read the thread. Only reason I asked because I checked via dip stick and it was good. Unless my two 5 quarts weren't 5.

Just did my first oil change and it took 10 quarts. On level ground it was 9/10ths of the way up on the hashed section of the dipstick.
On a secondary note, this car is by far easier to change oil than my fourth gen TA.

Just did my oil change at 500 miles. Oil was darker than I expected, but all good. Very easy to change the oil. 10 quarts has the oil halfway up the dipstick. Used the Mobil 1 EP 5W-30 oil and the PF64 AC Delco filter. Now I am good till I put it away in November.

My Mustang GT was 8 quarts, and that was a 302. 10 quarts in the SS to me seems about right.
