Trailblazer mule? Not much camo, so I'd suspect if this is the U.S. spec trailblazer, it's not the production body.

https://www.motor1.com/news/350122/c...er-mule-spied/

They say it will be based on the Colorado / Canyon structure....we'll see. I don't know what to think. A real rugged truck based Trailblazer sounds cool, but I'm not convinced there is a big market for it. If they are going to go all out, and make this a viable Jeep / Bronco competitor, then sure. Otherwise, why bother?

It's a mule for something but who knows what. They're assuming that a 2nd gen TrailBlazer mule + the $1 billion Wentzville expansion = 3rd gen NA market TrailBlazer. It's grasping, but we can hope.

Bummer. Oh well. Not a big surprise now.... Thought maybe they might sneak 10 speed in there.

And here I was waiting to see what MCE for the Colorado was, apparently it's nothing at all. I am super disappointed and will be going with another truck then.

Ahhh....familiar name. Mr. Smith had a very strong hand in the "modernizing" of GM's assembly plants. It had some benefits, but again (its my opinion) at the expense of a loss of design flair, especially with the large cars. We did gain some good things in the 90's and even in recent times, though IMO not with the same velocity during the sixties and seventies.

Why does it seem like GM is very slowly rolling out the A10 but Ford was able to slap it into just about everything it fits in already?

I'm guessing with new trucks rumored for 2021 or 2022 and Colorado still winning every midsize truck comparison, GM figured it could soldier on.

GM had just finished getting its 8-speed up to capacity when they started adding the 10-speed capacity. They were not going to just roll up the 8-speed and toss it away [insert shudder comments here]. So programs would need to be prioritized based on which would have the most FE impact and which would have the most revenue impact. Expect that vehicles that have only recently received an 8-speed would be towards the back of the line for 10-speed unless the move from 8 to 10 would make a big difference in FE or $$.

I greatly appreciate the information, but I won't lie and say that stung a lot. And to have that type of announcement on my birthday was NOT the birthday wish I made....lol. I will have to get out and drive a lot of trucks now, and see how they handle in my daily driving and my driving habits.

Me last week - life is good

Me today -

Well, I don't know what trucks you are considering, but if you are looking at a mid-size, the GM trucks are still the best all around option, even if they look the same as they did 5 years ago.

Assuming (big assumption here) if the recent fluid change actually does fix the 8 speed, and that is no longer an issue, then I think the GM mid-size trucks are downright excellent as I can't come up with any other widely known issues they have now. Compared to my 2015 model (which I like a lot) a loaner 2018 model I drove with the newer V6 and 8 speed felt quicker (especially off the line and throttle tip-in) and was still a joy to drive.

Just a little shocked this day in age that there has not been an MCE yet, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see a change for 2021. Chevy has done MCEs on models before even one year before a new generation, but at this point I just feel like they are going to ride this one out until the 3rd generation arrives.
