Correct, no PTM in an SS either and won't be able to add. Although, depending on exactly which mods you're looking to do it might make PTM ineffective anyways.

I'd say eLSD is better than a regular lsd, too. The eLSD still uses clutches, it's just using a separate hydraulic pressure system to control coupling torque between the wheels rather than the old mechanical systems. Its benefit is it can practically go from fully opened to fully locked unlike a traditional lsd and it can be opened or coupled independently from the driveing/braking torque resulting in better overall control of the system. Exactly how much better is likely dependent on driver skill and how well the tune works with other mods, but I'd be pretty surprised if switching from eLSD to lsd would make anyone faster assuming other mods don't cause issues with it.

In for this convo.

I personally started with a base 1SS because I knew I would be modding the car.. and as already mentioned the only thing I feel like I am missing is the ELSD. otherwise all other parts that make a 1le a 1le will most likely be changed for aftermarket parts.

Do some research on the ELSD and if you feel like you would be better off with it buy a 1le

I would pick a 1LE as it is a better performing car straight from the factory. Plus I don’t think there are any aftermarket options to upgrade the base 1SS LSD, so it looks like the 1LE is the better option because of the eLSD followed by the built in camera and PTM.

It's good to know that it is at least a 'proper' eLSD.

I HATE how oems call elsd a diff that is open and uses individual brakes to limit wheel spin
NOT ELSD!

There is a huge price difference between the 1LE and base.
I will probably keep a lookout for a base :(


I'm sure this question has been asked a 1000 times, but what exactly is keeping from instaling the eLSD afterwards?
Obviously cost, but what else?

You'd need the electronics from a 1LE to control the eLSD. It's not worth it, if you want eLSD, you need to buy a 1LE.

IMO... 1LE is great for driving stock, you get a track ready car from the factory... but if you're modding heavily it might not be worth it as you'd be tossing a lot of the stuff you're paying more for.

Also, the PTM modes are calibrated for the stock car, not that you can't use them with mods but I'm not sure how well they would work with significant modifications to the suspension and tires.

Also depending how far you plan on going with building a track car your resell value is out the window no matter base or 1le.

The only thing the 1le has over a base model when it comes to building a track car is the diff. since it's really the only thing you cant upgrade/change on our cars at the moment

so elsd is about the only thing you wouldnt be able to add and the pdr


i got my 16 ss before the 1le was out and modified it to make it my own car over the last few years


wheels tires suspension brakes


only thing i am really missing is new seats but just not ready for full race seats


if i did it again i would have waited for the 1le and paid the extra
