2017-2018 vs 2019-2021 Rear Tail Lights

Can the Rear Tail Lights from a 2017-2018 be changed to 2019-2021 ?

Someone more experienced will have to chime in, but the rear bumper is different to accommodate the refreshed lights. It could possibly fit but probably look a bit janky.

Is this jealousy? Go buy a new(er) car, if you hack up your old one it's going to look like shit and no one will buy it

Funny. Had a 2017 SS before my current 2019. MUCH preferred the 2017 Tail lights... erase the Nissan from your brain (pic #2), as required.

if I remember correctly, someone from phastek tried it, and it's not a direct swap. I'll have to look up who did it, but I remember something didn't line up or fit correctly, regardless of how it looked.

My question is why would anyone change out the older tailights to the newer ones? If you like the newer Camaro’s looks then buy a 2019-2021!

The tail lights and exhaust crackle was my reason for getting the '19. I think the 17's look cooler at night, but the 19's look really awesome in the day time while unique at night. It feels like a really modern look for the camaro.

I disliked the tail lights on my 2021 at first and preferred the 2017-2018 tail lights but they've grown on me and I don't mind them now. They look much better than the earlier tail lights at night. During the day, I'm not as wild about the clear look. I do prefer the rear fascia on the 2017-2018 though to the newer rear fascia. That unnecessary crease they put in the lower fascia doesn't look right to me.

To switch the tail lights out, you would need to switch the rear fascia too, not sure if the wiring would be the same but I'm sure a body shop could tell you.

Its kind of funny, those that own a 2017-2018 prefer their tail lights and those that own a 2019+ prefer their tail lights. Shocker!
