Have used the simplest plug in totally adjustable for each gear shift light, the holley sniper that plugs in to your OBD2 diagnostic port. I have used it in multiple cars and can adjust as fine as 50 RPM for the light to come on. You can set up each gear at different RPM. It was a must for me pushing manual cars down the 1/4 mile.

the down side to the holley light is the fact it uses the diagnostics port. unless there is a splitter or something to use with it, i don't think one will be able to log via hpt.

All I was doing was shift when needle is just before 6500 on the 1-2 and 6500 on 2-3 and just after on 3-4. The light might help clean things up and fine tune

Edit: this method usually lands me actuals 6500,6650, 6800
How do you stay off the 65-6600 rev limiter? the redline moved up to 6800 via your tune? Your good at watching the tach that close while making a 10 sec pass, and shifting that close to redline. Lot easier working with a light for me anyway. The beauty of the light you can set 1-2 shift light to flash earlier because of how fast the RPMs climb in the lower gears, the higher gear shifts I push the light on closer to redline and just keep looking out the windshield and concentrate on a good shift ...manually speaking.

Yeah I’m not that consistent, I think there’s room with the light. The 1-2 is the hardest and really that one is so fast it’s all about trying to beat the tach with that shift. The others I can glance down and you do it enough you use your ear when to glance down. The tach crossing the 6500 line is what makes it possible. If the target was somewhere else it would be way harder

Is there a verdict on driving these hard without a tune yet? Been following all these threads but for every 5 people that says MAF adjusts there’s one guy who says it runs lean up top.

Worried about running it at 6k at the track constantly if there are lean issues haven’t seen a. Definitive answer yet since so many people are tuning with other mods

Another brake booster line question , using the fitting everyone is using , its necessary to ream out the vac line so it goes into the fitting. I am not sure about going the route because now you would not be able to plug into the OE intake with that vac line if one decides to reinstall the OE intake. Why not cut the vac line end off that snaps onto the OE intake and attach the line with a rubber hose and clamp to a nipple style screw in fitting for the LT2 intake. That way all you would need to do is use a rubber hose sleeve to mate the OE set up vac line and replug back into the OE intake .

i ran mine hard for about a month with a stock tb. the car was previously tuned on ethanol with full exhaust and ported LT1 intake manifold. i didn't have any issues and the car was noticeably faster.

if you're concerned about the warranty - leave it be.

Yup ordered mine on Friday with the gpi modification and map extension harness. Can't wait to get it on after winter's hibernation along with new TS headers and flex fuel line, then Pray tune😎

Reaming out the hose end won’t effect going back to stock manifold.. the stock manifold doesn’t have the inner sleeve like the fittings people are using on the lt2’s... I considered doing what you mentioned as far as cutting the end off and doing rubber hose adapter... after pulling the stock hose off and checking it out, I didn’t see any clean way of doing it due to the type of hose, outer diameter , inner diameter, and the hose being like plastic and not having any flex to it.. i would say do the fitting like everyone is doing

Just a small update. may not be a big issue but wondering if anyone else has noticed that the lt2 corvette intake cover rubs the hoodliner a little bit. May just pull the it out if it gets too bad.
