ZL1 Solo Autocross PDR

Been putting my ZL1 to work! After the last event this last weekend, I finally feel like I'm getting to know the car a little bit better. Still just scratching the surface though!

First Event, Valkaria, car hit 1500 miles on the way to the event:

The second event was on the kart track at Daytona, still learning:

Event this last weekend and finally feeling like I'm getting a better handle on what this car can do:

Hell yes man lol! Looked like a blast!

Sport 2 seemed to help out a lot more, in the last vid at least.

In the first vid were you pressing down the clutch in corners? I never saw the gear change but I kept hearing a throttle blip. They seemed to space those turns out at very inopportune distances for the M6 cars. Right after redline in first gear lol.

In car commentary on the first vid was amusing to lmao.

Having so much fun with this car, sport 2 does seem to be a good choice so far.

I might be clutching in corners, force of habit maybe.... need to correct that. 2nd gear might be the way to go for these events, a bit lower in the RPM range than I would like but much smoother.

I kind of like the commentary, I really don't hear it until watching videos.

Sign up for a Novice school. You'll get at least 20-40 runs depending on how they run it and much needed seat time. They'll encourage you to spin the car and push it as hard as possible then dial it back so you learn the limits better and quicker.

Thanks! I might have to start watching what I am saying if I'm going to be posting more vids. Didn't realize how negative I sound when I'm actually having fun.

I have noticed the same thing about myself when using the PDR. I thought I didn't say a word, until I played it back. It was like, "I really said that, really?".

Going to get some good seat time in a couple weeks down at Sebring for a PDX event. Hope I can come back with some fun footage and be a lot more comfortable with car. .

I didn't think you sounded negative at all. I love running autocross but I know stuff comes out when I hear that telltale thump of a cone when you were having a good run. I think most people do that, you just don't think about it until you hear yourself.

Man those first two venues looked painful by how tight everything was, but it looks like they used it to best effect. Certainly nothing that would let you stretch your legs though. Since you said you were just starting out and you were nice enough to share your videos with us would you mind a few pointers on your runs?
