A Faster Horse Documentary

Just had a chance to watch this last night on Netflix. It basically goes through the history of the ford mustang and their latest redesign.

One thing that struck me as pretty odd was the fact that they kept mentioning the word "cheap". The customers want it cheap. In one scene they were arguing whether to spend $1 more per car to fix a problem.

I like the 2015 mustang but this seems like typical Ford. Cheap cheap cheap. If I ever thought about buying a ford, I won't be after watching this.

I'm not a mustang fan by any means but that was a good show. I'm sure the Camaro has had similar struggles

That's how I've always felt about Mustangs, regardless of their looks: the cheapest of the modern muscle cars, hence their popularity.

I just watched this and thought it was really good. I happen to really like the 15 Mustang and I think it is a nicer car than the 6th Gen... heresy I know. Amazing what all goes into a new design and would love to see a similar show about our beloved Camaro.

I owned a '13 5.0 for 3 years. Not a single problem with it. Matter of fact I wish it was sitting in my garage next to the SS. And stock on stock the SS is not even close, the 5.0 was a screamer. The SS is more comfortable & a much smoother ride.

my local dealer doesn't even have one of the new 6th gens for me to make a real life comparison, I have to admit the new stang is popping up all over the place here, and they look pretty nice but it's a ford so it is highly unlikely I will own one. have always disliked the build quality of there products, not saying that GM has always been great but could never bring myself to buy something of there's(ford)

I was a UAW member at the Mitsubishi plant in Illinois for 14 years. On a very good day 1000 cars rolled off the line. Add up $1 per car for the life of a model run and you're talking serious money. It's all about the bottom line no matter the manufacturer

Yea so I don't think it's a fair statement

Also, the most I see the new 5.0 the more I like it, idk why. I am really considering dropping by to check out things cause the interior looks comfortable.

That was a good doc. One dollar a car is a ton of money in the grand scheme of things.
