I've given a crazy thought or two to removing my back seats and getting rid of the wall between the cabin and the trunk. The backseat is uncomfortable to useless so it might be cool to see what that would look like.

I couldn't see the Camaro as a hatchback. Too much heritage for the Camaro to sport anything other than a traditional 2+2 configuration, w/ a trunk.

Hatchback as a option?
I voted hatchback. I loved the hatch in the 4th gens I owned. I also loved the hatch in my Fox Mustang. Lots of usable space.
Maybe Chevrolet could make it an option, much like the glass roof in the new mustangs. If you want a Camaro with a trunk, buy the coupe. If you want a Camaro with a hatch, buy the hatchback.

Hatchbacks rattle and effect the handling of the car. Our Camaro's would not be as solid a car and wouldn't handle as good with hatchbacks.
Its performance vs utility.

Excuuuuuuse meeeee, but the third gens had hatchbacks and they were handling like Corvettes in the 80's. Check out the book called Camaro: The Third Generation.
They were designing the cars FOR handling. Hatchbacks for me!
