Don't cry...it's not engineering a brilliant chassis. It's a band-aid.

Got it. According to you then, so is ABS, traction control, stability control, mag suspension, stickier tires and just about any part that is incorporated into the vehicle that aids in it's dynamics. I didn't realize a chassis by itself drives around a track.

I guess we're all driving band-aids.

Nope! They obviously took the chassis as far as they could/would with the GT350 and took the easy road to CF wheels. "Anyone" could do that. And I do mean anyone (not just manufacturers) willing to spend the $. I do applaud them on the engine.

Whatever dude. GM obviously took the alpha chassis as far as they could go, so they had to take the easy road and add magnaride. "Anyone" can do that.

MR was developed in-house, and then they sold it to other manufacturers. Ford bought CF wheels from another company and bolted them on. Weak!

Ford put all their might into a car and charge a fortune for it and it manages to limp a second faster around a track. GM throws some suspension upgrades on the SS and it almost creams Fords best. How Sweet it is.

I worked for Delphi back in 1999 after they split from GM. GM purchases their suspension components the same as Ford does. You seem to be grasping at straws my friend.

"Limp"...seconds on the track are an enormous gap. At least that's what ya'll have been claiming about the performance delta between the SS and the GT PP.

Still the 1LE which is basically a 1SS with a few chotchkies bolted on is within striking distance of the most ridiculous fast mustang ever built for half the money. The performance per $ is pretty good.

No doubt the "R" is faster, but unless you're a track rat that's fortunate enough to see one once in a blue moon, these car don't really exist in numbers great enough to worry about other than in a magazine test. Most of the "R" cars won't ever leave a garage.

The big difference:
Camaro owners knew the 350R would be faster....by a little.
Ford owners were praying their 350R would be faster....

No argument there. $ per performance, the 1LE sounds like it's hard to beat. It's not really anywhere near 1/2 the costs though.

Most of the "R's" will have no AC. I believe the ones they use in the test are AC free...ugh!
