Finally broken in…

I just rolled 1500 miles on my 18 1LE that I purchased almost two years ago. I decided to bring her up to around 5.5 RPM’s when leaving a red light.
At two points when accelerating in first gear, she felt like I was feathering the clutch and skipping along.
Is this because of the Nanny Stuff?
Is this the traction control trying to protect me from breaking the rear end loose?

If you floored it full throttle then it's most likely the nannies. But man, 1500 mi in two years? drive your car more and have fun.

Yeah your car should have been redlined at the end of the first street when you bought it from the dealer. This break in crap is just that, crap. These cars are beaten hard all over the country and there are not issues. You need to drive that museum piece or let the next guy enjoy it.

Not the best way to look at it. I've owned several two wheeled rice rockets. Most of them I never broke in at all and went screaming George from day one.
The group I rode with not so much. But, When we did a roll on my bike always pulled away from the friend who had a duplicate bike. Also, the engine on my bike was always noisier and had more vibration. In the end, I started having problems with my engines at lower mileage than anyone else did. Blown Cam Chains, failed connecting rod on one.
I think you'll make more power from the engine if driving like you stole it from day one, though, I don't think the engine will have as long of a life span.

It felt like I was feathering the clutch. The car felt a little unstable for a split second. I did glance at the dash and noticed a yellow light illuminate.

Not a fair comparison. Sport bike engines rev to 13,000 usually and have much higher tolerances. They take a beating, and are made to. I too had 7 different sportbikes that I never failed to wring out every time I rode. And not once, not ever did I have any kind of failure.

Once the weather warmed up and the sun came out I see a few SS Camaro's around, not a lot but a few. I've only seen one other 1LE in the past two plus years.

Challengers are everywhere.

Let's give the OP a break It is his car to do what he damn pleases with. I could ride anyone's ass for buying a 1LE and not tracking it...etc...

As far as break in: the motor is good to go after 500 miles. But the ELSD needs more miles to break in. Hence the 1500 mile threshold, followed by fluid change and plugs cleaning.

There is no good reason to not follow manufacturer specified break in procedure and personally i have always followed them for all my vehicles, regardless of type. Never had a single motor issue regardless of type of duty (dd, track, hauling).

OP: not knowing what drive mode you were in, it is hard to comment on what happened, or why. But if you were in a std mode which engages when you first fire your car up, then most likely TC intervened as it would be in a very restrictive setting.

Cheers!

Yep, he bought it, he can use it however he wants. Around here, I have only seen a 1LE at a 'Track Day' one time. Have seen several of them on the street though.

I sold my 12 Corvette Grand Sport Vert at a price I couldn't refuse.
What do I replace it with?
I've had three Camaros in the past.
A 67 SS 396 Big Block.
A 70SS 360HP LT-1 and a 80 Z28 that I purchased new.
That 80 was a real POS. A vacuum cleaner on wheels.
I have and always will be a fan of the Camaro.
Looking at the Vette again?
I was really getting sick of riding 4" off of the ground. Riding with my ass on the pavement with a car that I see mostly chicks driving with automatic transmissions.

The 1LE is a little higher off the ground and less feminine looking than the Corvette.

The flat back hood and black wheels really stood out and sold me. Both offset the Summit White perfectly.

The 2SS Colors and Options really didn't do anything for me.

I didn't want a Nav and groovy lights all over the interior.

The Recaro seats and suede wrap look so much more fitting for this car than the standard seats.
