Either the dealer knows is got an allocation or not.
But for when??
Only GM can decide when to pick up : 02/09, 03/09, 04/06....
How can you know you will be on the feb 9th?

I'm going to beat a dead horse. If a dealer has an allocation it's out of their hands for when the order gets picked up correct? Like should I be on my salesmans ass about it or is it out of their control?

My dealer (and numerous posts) have told me there is no date specified on when the order gets picked up. I've talked to two dealers who told me that if I'd put money down, they were "sure" I'd get a Feb 9th allocation. I don't believe that at all (although they might actually believe that; who knows).

My dealer (today) told me he "hopes" my order will get picked up Feb. 9th, but really has no idea, only that he has an allocation, and it's good for sometime between now and March!

I did a national search and the results were that no Garnet Reds are at 3000 - so I am not sure if the dealer is giving bad information or there is some misinterpretation - Maybe someone can chime in and give us some info.

Local Chevy District Mgr said this today.. I can't speak for other areas of the country ...

"All stores have at least 1 allocation of Camaro Coupe ZL1hitting on the 02/09 DOSP Cycle as part of the controlled allocation"

That's really good to hear! I know my dealer had two coupe allocations for A10's. I'm number 2, so I hope my dealer gets more than 1!

I had to hold off on ordering my car due to financial reasons. Back in December my dealer told me I could order the car. He was also nice enough to show me his allocation which said we could build one. It was on his computer. I know it was legit. I didnt order because I was deciding on what color. He told me if I picked Garnet which is what I was thinking that if they picked up my order after a certain point I couldn't make changes. What is the cutoff to modify your order if you put it through?

Just cause dealer can "build" vehicle on is computer in GM Workbench does not mean he has an allocation or that the vehicle will ever be built. This has been stated and re-stated many times. He is pulling you out of the shopping market. Allocations and constraints will determine if your order number will be picked. When order goes to status "3000" you cannot make changes and must be reentered starting the cycle all over. If you don't believe this, give a shout to Becky @ Rogers Chevy. She is a great source of current and correct info on this forum. Best of luck to you on purchasing your new Camaro.

All dealers do not get 1 allocation.... that is total BS...... it is based on prior Camaro sales..... not all dealers will get one.....

That's why I have 2 orders running just in case. I know the one dealer is I huge dealer in my area and the other one has multiple locations and could be using an allocation from one of their other locations.
