ZLE Wheel Color / Finish

I've searched a bunch -- maybe I'm missing this piece of info somewhere on the forum. I am looking for the satin black type finish that comes on the OE ZLE wheels. I have some curb rash on one wheel, so will be getting all four stripped & powdercoated.

Ideally, I'd love to have the paint code and any other information about the finish. If that information is not available, I'd appreciate suggestions / thoughts on achieving as close a match as possible. I've looked through all of the color options that Prismatic Powders offers and, honestly, there are so many that it makes it hard to decide which may be closest to the OE color.

Any help is much appreciated!

Would have been much easier to have a mobile wheel repair service fix it. They can repair even serious curb rash, match the paint and you'll never even know it was damaged. Prices are typically around $75 per wheel.

I've used a mobile wheel repair specialist in the past and had a really terrible experience. They couldn't match a curb rashed wheel to the other three -- the color was off, so was the texture. So they then powdercoated all four wheels so they matched, but lost a center cap and had to buy me a new one. Then I had peeling issues with the finish which I would, perhaps, expect with a painted finish, but not with a powdercoat finish. I ended up not paying them a dime and they were fine with that as they admitted they couldn't do the job right.

After that experience, I'd rather pay the $400-$500 to have all four wheels done at the same time by a reputable, quality powdercoater.

Man, that's bad luck. I've used two different mobile wheel repair services on multiple wheels in the past, all of them came out perfect, even difficult to match finishes. I once bought a set of wheels on Ebay used that were supposed to be in perfect condition, the Ebay member tried to scam me and the wheels showed up with MAJOR curb rash on all 4 wheels. I ended up getting a huge refund but kept the wheels and had them all repaired by a mobile wheel repair service, they looked brand new, I couldn't believe it.

I as well have had terrible experiences with mobile repair. They always look good when they are done and then the fading and chipping starts and then they say thats part of it.

Yeah, it was probably just bad luck. But it was a frustrating experience that turned me off the idea of trying it again. And, IMHO, the cost of re-powdercoating four wheels is pretty reasonable.

If it has rash though, someone has to fix that before powdercoating though.

Again, sounds like a bad experience. I have had multiple wheels done and never experienced this even after years.

Yeah they would fix the rash and then powdercoat. That seems to be a pretty common service with the powdercoaters I've spoken with.
