GM Failure in ZL1 Shipment

ZL1 build was finished on September 10 and the car is still sitting in Michigan. Dealer is now saying Nov 13 delivery due to no drivers being available. Anyone else have or seen this type of delay. Doesn’t seem possible to take this long and makes you question how GM is being ran. Any way to complain to GM?

There are Blackwings in the staging lot that were finished in February that are still waiting for delivery.

There are 2023 models being delivered before the 2022's.

GM is in near total disarray from a logistical standpoint.

I haven't received my 2022 ZL1 yet. Built on May 18. Not waiting for any parts. Just sitting there. Total and complete FUBAR.

That’s crazy … my ZLE was built on a week after yours and I got mine on 8/12. 10 months for a car

mine was 2 months late from original delivery date of July 31, ETA changed 8 times and finally got my 1LE on Aug 25th. It was actually showing in the system of 9/17 and then few hours later out of no where it showed up at my dealer. I know I dont have a ZL1 but this is pretty typical it seems

There is a shortage of Transportation (Semi) Drivers Nation wide, like all field's, as our work force ages , youngsters all want to be IT Engineer's, they don't want to work the Trades.
It's already showing today , you waith 1,2,3 weeks for a technician HVAC, Plumbing etc. And when the tech comes he or she in there mid 40s
My nephew is a Teacher at a Technical college , what there going thru. He was telling me, things will get tight (worse) in the Trades before better.

This is nuts.

My 2023 ZLE was built on Aug 22, 2022 and arrived at the dealer on Sept 17, 2022.

Now the only option was the 1LE package and red seat belts.

It also came with the back up sensors installed and functioning.

We still consider a lot of forms of IT a trade. You could work on a HVAC outside in the summer heat, or sit in the AC in a office and make good pay. Idk why Id do ac work.

I can accept the shortage of truck drivers. I can accept the slow speed of rail travel. I can accept occasional delays. What is unacceptable is a system where older orders are placed on the back burner so newer orders can be delivered. A 2023 ordered after a 2022 was built should never be delivered before the 2022. Never. I am convinced GM logistics is managed by an entire platoon of Krusty the Clowns.

I'm more convinced every day that it's a bubble that will pop one day.

I ordered new Silverado Ltz with 3.0 Duramax on 1/24/22, (ordered a Tahoe Duramax also) built on 3/18/22 and I picked it up 4/8/22 and it was built in Mexico. My dealer is McCosh Chevrolet in Columbia Mo. He's the 1st or 2nd Largest Fleet Dealer in the US. He was able to get my truck on a train and into Wentzville Mo in just a matter of a week and once it was unloaded off the train it was at the dealer in a few days. I'm a lucky guy is all I can say and maybe it helps to have bought about 40 cars and trucks from that dealership over the last 20 years. Just maybe being the largest Fleet dealer helps also, he has about 500 Fleet GMC Yukon SUV's sitting on his lot right now waiting for Enterprise and others fleet companies to pick them up.
