HEADACHE! I'm totally confused

2017 Camaro 2LT RS Convertible, Chevy OEM wheels 20"x8.5" 25mm Offset front and rear.

I've tried searching and reading, but my headache get's worse as my confusion grows.

I need new tires and wheels, scraped too many curbs. The last time that I bought wheels was 45 years ago, I'm 66. Now I see offset -, offset +, 8.5", 9" 9.5", 10".

The tires that I want BGOODRICH G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S PLUS, Front & Rear 245/40ZR20 Ultra High Performance All-Season or CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 PLUS, Front & Rear 245/40ZR20 Ultra High Performance All-Season.

I'm retired on a fixed income so wheels will be rotated so the tires last longer.

What size wheels can/should I buy without having to worry about whether those tires will fit and there won't be an issue with my car.

Buy:
- 20" wheels
- 8.5" width
- ET25 offset

Same diameter, width & offset as your stock wheels and will fit either of those 245/40/20 tire options.

Thanks, I haven't seen any aftermarket wheels with 25 offset. How far in either direction can the offset be, or does it have to be 25mm? That's where a lot of my confusion comes from.

When I go to sites like Tirerack and put my Camaro 2LT in, they all show front and rear staggered sizes. Even though the 2LT RS wasn't sold with front and rear staggered size wheels.

Most of the wheels that I like have a +35 offset. My camaro is Nightfall Grey and I want to go with black or dark wheels.

I really like these 4play wheels but they're a +35 offset.

That I know, but are there other sizes? I'm asking because there seems to be very few choices at that OEM size.

Like can I run a 20"x8.5" +35 offset with those tires and no rubbing? Or rubbing only when the wheels are turn completely left or right?

Like can I run a 20"x9" +35 offset with those tires?

APEX wheels and get the DWS06+. The BFG are directional and can't be rotated criss cross apple sauce.

https://www.mrrwheels.com/collections/wheels Get in touch with them. They're a forum sponsor and the wheels are reasonably priced. Most (if not all) are replicas.

I bought my wheels from PK Auto Design. Also a forum sponsor, very knowledgeable and they carry a wide selection, but typically a higher price tier and you mentioned being on a fixed income.

whew, those are out of my price range at this time. I wasn't planning this but I had a side wall give out and split open. It's still hold air, but I'm not driving it. The tires are the originals with 30,000 miles on them but over 5 years old.

I might just have to go with new tires for the time being. Temps are dipping early here in Tennessee and it a bit chilly riding my Fatboy after the son goes down.

My budget after taxes is definitely under $2500. I figured that it'd be cheaper in the long run to buy both now, then have to have the tires remounted in the future.

From all of my reading, I gather that if I go with 20"x8.5" wheel, the offset can be between +20 to +35 and I'll be ok without any rubbing. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I would not go more than +30 offset. The wheels will be in closer and stance will not look good. Tire rack has some nice 20" with+20 offset. You could get a19" wheel and use a 245-45-19 tire.

Maybe try Craigslist for a set of someone's factory take-off wheels in your local area? That's one way to freshen up your wheels and maybe change up your look, on a budget.

+1 ... I would also scan our member's classified here. Many times people want to sell their very fresh originals when they put aftermarket wheels on, often with almost new tires installed and tpms ready to go.

One last question, I hope. Will these fit my 2017 Camaro 2LT RS Convertible: 20" Black 5443 Wheels SET of (4) Fits Camaro - SS Style Rim 20x9 (non-staggered). Just noticed that the offset is 35. Dam, cause I can get a new set of 4 for $772.00.

I sold my factory black satin finish upgraded wheels with tires (<3k miles) for like $800 on here a couple years ago. Watch the classifieds, that’s what I would do in your situation.

Refurbish option?

Do some searching and see if you can find a reputable wheel repair business in your region. As long as your wheels are only curb rash and moderate scrapes, wheel refurbishing may be a cheaper alternative. I imagine if you wanted them repaired and painted black, this could be done for cheaper than a new set, and you wouldn’t need to worry about fit at all.

For reference I had OEM machine face wheels (not the Camaro’s) redone for $125 each last summer.
