No big deal at the end of the lease drop it off and move on.
I see used 2014-2015 SS 1le’s going for high $25-$28k range in my area all the time and they are 5th gens. No way the 6th gen 1le will be $18k in 3 years.

I moved up from a 5th gen 1LE to my 6th gen 1LE. I still keep an eye out on the for sale listings. Asking price for a nice low mileage 5th gen 1LE have pretty sat at $30k for over 2 years. I also don't see the 6th gen 1LE depreciating that rapidly in 3 years. My guess is a rapid decline to around $30k in 2 years and then most of the depreciation will be the result of miles and condition.

Exactly. It will sit at $28k- $30k range for awhile.

I was watching used SS 1LE prices since, around, December 2017.

From what I noted, you could find a used 2017 SS 1LE for $34k-$36k for a few months (say Decemeber through February). Once spring started to get close, prices started to increase. Around March, prices went to $36k-$38k. Towards the end of April, I was seeing the majority of cars being listed at $37k-$39k (maybe, partly, due to the dislike in the 2019 refresh?).

The prices I listed concern cars that are mostly under 20k miles, to which most are.

I've been watching since early September of '17 when there were still tons of new '17's on the lots. You are right with the prices, many started out listed in the high 30's to low 40's but the cars didn't move until they dropped into the mid 30's.

New prices dipped as well, bottoming out at the end of December with the Employee discount throw in, and came down again at the end of Feb early March.

Got mine at what turned out to be the bottom toward the end of March. Prices have steadily gone up since my purchase, almost immediately after, haven't seen them listed that low since.

I live in New Mexico and you can get 1LE's in Phoenix AZ brand new for $38k-$41k. I have been keeping my eye out for one.

Any thoughts on high mileage 1LEs? I found one locally that seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but it's a 2017 with 35k+ miles on it. The owner has a good reason, but I'm wondering how much this impacts the price. My thoughts are high mileage on a high performance car should drive the value down more than it would on a normal SS or LT, etc.

Wow, that's a lot of miles!

I would have zero interest in a '17 1LE with that many miles, and I feel that speaks a lot to how that high mileage effects its value. Low miles value sits around $33K IMHO, so go off that if you plan to offer. I would not pay $30K personally.

The question is, how much value does it lose?

At this point, I'd say it has likely double or triple what most '17s have.

Why would you have zero interest?

I think you're probably correct in saying higher mileage on a performance car would drive the value down more but I also think the seller has a leg to stand on because of how limited the 1LE package is. I can't imagine many are on the used market yet much less local to you. Full disclaimer, mine is a daily until this fall and just hit 29k miles so maybe I'm a bit bias lol.
